Yes. EA lists the Logitech G29 as a tested steering wheel for Need for Speed Heat on PS4 and PC. The setup differs by platform, and EA says you still need a controller to access some game features.
Which platforms support the G29 in Need for Speed Heat?
EA’s steering-wheel support response, posted with its January 28, 2020 update, names “Logitech G29 (PS4, PC)” among the tested models. EA also cautions that it tested some wheels and that others might work, so the listing confirms the G29 on those platforms—not universal compatibility across every device, configuration, or feature. The G29 is Logitech’s PlayStation-and-PC model. Logitech lists the G920 for Xbox and PC, and EA’s game-specific list names the G920 for Xbox/PC. The G29 is not the Xbox version. Logitech’s G29 product information describes its platform compatibility.
How to set up the G29
On PS4
- Before connecting the wheel, set its mode switch to PS4, as directed in Logitech’s G29 platform setup instructions.
- Assign the wheel to your console profile before launching the game.
- Connect the wheel, then start Need for Speed Heat. At the title screen, press X to enable steering-wheel play.
On PC
- Before connecting the G29, set its mode switch to PS4. Logitech’s setup page specifies this mode for PC as well.
- Install Logitech G HUB. EA’s game-specific guidance recommends G HUB for PC players, regardless of wheel manufacturer or model.
- Connect the wheel before launching the game.
Logitech’s setup page also describes Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) 8.70 or later for full PC functionality, while EA’s game-specific instructions recommend G HUB. Will the wheel replace the controller?
No. EA says access to all game features requires a combination of steering wheel and controller. Keep a controller available rather than assuming every menu or function can be operated from the G29.
