No—not based on what Lexus has announced. The six-wheel LS Concept, revealed at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, is a chauffeur-focused concept Lexus calls “Luxury Space.” The company has not confirmed it for production or said it will replace the LS sedan. “Minivan” describes its roomy, multi-row appearance, not a confirmed production category.
What Lexus revealed
Lexus introduced the LS Concept as part of its “Discover” direction, a broader exploration of products, services, experiences, and lifestyles. The concept departs sharply from the familiar flagship sedan: it has six wheels and is designed around a chauffeur-driven passenger cabin. Lexus says the “S” in LS stands for “Space,” rather than “Sedan,” for this concept. The reveal also included other LS-inspired concepts, suggesting an exploration of different luxury forms rather than an announcement of one replacement model. Lexus’s announcement describes it as a concept and personal sanctuary.
Calling it a “minivan” is understandable shorthand for its tall, spacious, multi-row form, but Lexus’s official description is a six-wheel chauffeur-driven vehicle. The concept’s appearance alone does not establish its eventual vehicle class or retail identity.
Why does the LS Concept have six wheels?
Lexus says the arrangement is intended to preserve interior space by keeping wheelhouses from intruding into the cabin. It also enables wide doors, which Lexus says can let passengers enter or leave the second and third rows at the same time. These are the company’s stated design aims; the reviewed materials do not publish dimensions or evidence of specific ride or handling benefits. Lexus explains the six-wheel layout here.

Is it replacing the LS sedan?
Lexus has not announced that the six-wheel concept will be built or replace the sedan. Its official pages identify it as a concept and explain its design intent, but do not provide production approval, a retail name, powertrain, price, launch date, or market availability. That leaves open whether Lexus might develop a related vehicle later; the current announcement is not a production commitment.
The production LS remains a separate story in the United States. Lexus’s September 26, 2025 newsroom announcement said the 2026 LS 500 AWD Heritage Edition sedan would be limited to 250 units. The Lexus LS model page says the final few examples can still be found at select dealers; inventory is subject to change. Neither the sedan’s limited run nor its availability confirms anything about the six-wheel concept.

Simon Humphries, Chief Branding Officer at Toyota Motor Corporation, described the idea this way: “This is not just a car, it is a vehicle that invites you to discover your own space. It is a portal to a larger luxury lifestyle, giving you permission to break the rules of automotive luxury and choose what works for you.” The quote appears in Lexus’s reveal announcement.
