Lexus has announced a 2026 IS 350 for the U.S. market, and Lexus Japan lists a 2026 IS300h. Those market-specific listings show the IS continuing into 2026; they do not establish when production will end worldwide.
What Lexus has confirmed about the IS in 2026
On September 9, 2025, Lexus USA announced that its 2026 IS would go on sale in early 2026. The announcement covers the U.S.-market IS 350 in F SPORT Design and F SPORT grades. Lexus said: “The new model will go on sale in early 2026.” Lexus USA’s announcement describes a 3.5-liter V6 rated at 311 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of peak torque, with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.
Toyota Motor Corporation’s global announcement, also dated September 9, 2025, says the 2026 model would go on sale in various markets starting in early 2026. That is a market-availability statement, not a worldwide production end date. The global release also says the IS debuted in 1999 and that cumulative sales reached approximately 1.3 million across 40 countries and regions. That total is Lexus’s stated figure in the 2025 announcement.
Why the answer depends on the market
The IS range is not identical everywhere. Lexus USA’s 2026 announcement concerns the IS 350, while Lexus Japan’s current IS materials list a 2026 IS300h. The Japanese manual listing records IS300h production from January 2026, while its IS350 and IS300 listings run through December 2025. These regional records illustrate why a single global end date cannot be inferred from one market’s model schedule.

Lexus’s U.S. model page lists the 2026 IS and accessory products. A current model page or announced sale date establishes a market-specific offering, not how long production will continue or when another model year might arrive.
Has Lexus announced that the IS will end later in 2026?
The official sources cited here do not give a final production date for every market, announce a worldwide end date, or explain a decision to discontinue the IS. They also do not establish what will happen after the 2026 model year. So the claim that the Lexus IS will end production later in 2026 is not confirmed by these sources; that is different from proof that production will continue beyond 2026.

Nor does a sales figure for Lexus as a whole answer the question. Toyota Motor North America reported 29,011 Lexus-division U.S. sales in March 2026, down 17.3% year over year. That is a division-wide figure, not IS sales data, and it does not establish a production decision. The March 2026 sales release does not provide a model-specific basis for concluding that the IS is ending.

If you are considering an IS, check the official Lexus site for your country and ask a local dealer about the specific model, grade, ordering status, and inventory. An announced model and a vehicle available to order or deliver are not necessarily the same thing, and availability can differ by region and change over time. The U.S. IS 350 grades and Japanese IS300h listing should not be treated as a single worldwide lineup.
