The supposed 2025 and 2026 models circulating online are rumor images and fabricated claims, not confirmed Ford vehicles. As of October 5, 2026, neither Ford’s published product plans nor the reporting reviewed identifies a new Crown Victoria.
Where did the Crown Victoria comeback claims come from?
Online posts and videos have circulated images labeled as a 2025 or 2026 Crown Victoria. SlashGear reported that the 2025 images it examined were AI-generated and that Ford had made no official announcement. Some of the imagery included garbled lettering, another warning sign that it was not a genuine Ford reveal. That assessment applies to the images covered in its December 9, 2024 report, not automatically to every image that may appear later. SlashGear’s report.
In July 2025, Ford Authority addressed online claims about a supposed 2026 model, including a squared-off design, LED lights, alloy wheels and a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 said to produce 450 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. Those were fabricated claims about a nonexistent model—not specifications released by Ford. Ford Authority’s Alexandra Purcell wrote, “There’s no such thing as the 2026 Ford Crown Victoria.” That is the reporter’s conclusion, not a quotation from Ford. Ford Authority’s report.
There are no confirmed new Crown Victoria trims or specifications to compare. Treat renderings, performance figures and model-year labels as unverified unless Ford itself announces a vehicle.

Did Ford hint at a revival on social media?
No product announcement has emerged from the fan exchanges described in recent coverage. Autoblog reported on March 27, 2026, that a Ford Pro social-media manager replied to a request to bring back the Crown Vic: “I CAN’T BRING BACK THE CROWN VIC I ONLY DO THE SOCIAL MEDIA.” The reply clarifies the person’s role; it does not announce or deny an engineering program. Autoblog also recounts an older Ford social-media reply acknowledging the Crown Vic as a fan-favorite revival suggestion. Acknowledging fan interest is not the same as revealing a production plan. Autoblog’s report.
What has Ford actually said about its plans?
Ford’s December 15, 2025 public strategy statement describes investment priorities that include trucks and vans, hybrids, affordable electric vehicles and battery energy storage. It outlines plans for a midsize electric pickup using the Universal EV Platform, a gas or hybrid commercial van, and affordable vehicles later in the decade. The release does not mention a Crown Victoria or announce a replacement sedan. Its silence is useful context, but it is not proof that Ford has permanently ruled out using the name.

Ford president and CEO Jim Farley described the company’s priorities this way: “The operating reality has changed, and we are redeploying capital into higher-return growth opportunities: Ford Pro, our market-leading trucks and vans, hybrids and high-margin opportunities like our new battery energy storage business.” That statement concerns Ford’s broader strategy, not the Crown Victoria specifically. Ford’s December 15, 2025 release.
When did Ford stop making the Crown Victoria?
According to Autoblog, the last Crown Victoria rolled off the production line on September 15, 2011, ending production of the model and the Panther platform introduced in 1979. Autoblog attributes the discontinuation to aging technology, weak civilian demand, the cost of meeting stability-control requirements and worn tooling. Those are the publication’s reported explanations for the car’s end. Autoblog’s account.

Could Ford revive the name later?
It remains possible for Ford to reuse the Crown Victoria name in the future, but there is no confirmed revival to describe now. Even if Ford eventually used the name again, that would not by itself establish whether the vehicle was a direct successor or a different kind of model. No public evidence cited here establishes a future body style, platform, powertrain or launch date.
