BYD has shown the DENZA Z in production convertible form, but its official announcements do not confirm that it is the roofless, no-windscreen, scissor-door car described in this headline. In April 2026, BYD said the electric supercar had a retractable soft top. The company has since named coupe, spider and racing versions, but the reviewed descriptions do not establish that a production DENZA Z will lack a windscreen or use scissor doors.
What BYD has confirmed about the DENZA Z
At the Beijing Auto Show on 28 April 2026, BYD described the DENZA Z as an electric supercar and said it was displayed in production convertible form with a retractable soft top. BYD also said Standard, Convertible and Track editions were intended for customers. It called the car a 1,000+ PS model, while noting that further technical specifications and a comprehensive sales-rollout schedule would follow. BYD’s Beijing Auto Show announcement
That is evidence of a production-form presentation, not proof that customer deliveries have begun or that a specific body configuration is finalized for every market. Nor does it verify the distinctive details in the headline: BYD’s reviewed announcements do not say the DENZA Z has no windscreen or scissor doors.
How the announced versions changed
BYD’s naming has evolved across announcements, so the lists should be read as dated descriptions rather than one settled global lineup.

The July figures are manufacturer claims, not independent test results. DENZA UK stated that the triple-motor DENZA Z produces 1,604 PS; its launch headline associated a 0–62 mph time of 1.96 seconds specifically with the Racing version. Those figures should not be applied to every version.
Is the headline’s exact car the DENZA Z?
That identity is not established by the official material cited here. BYD’s description of a retractable-soft-top convertible supports the broader claim that a DENZA Z convertible was presented in production form. It does not confirm a windscreen-free cockpit or scissor doors. The reviewed sources also do not settle whether the headline refers to a different BYD Group design or an earlier concept.

As a result, the careful answer is: a DENZA Z production-form convertible has been shown, but the specific no-windscreen, scissor-door design has not been verified as the production car.
Do not confuse it with the YANGWANG U9 Xtreme
The YANGWANG U9 Xtreme is a separate BYD Group vehicle, not another name or version for the DENZA Z. BYD describes it as a limited-series U9 hypercar and says production is capped at 30 vehicles. The company reported that it reached 496.22 km/h at ATP Automotive Testing Papenburg on 14 September 2025. That is BYD’s reported record, and it belongs to the U9 Xtreme—not the DENZA Z. When will the DENZA Z go on sale?
The reviewed April announcement did not provide a comprehensive sales schedule, price or full technical specification; BYD said more information would follow. The later Goodwood releases identify versions and performance claims, but the material cited here still does not establish a complete market-by-market launch schedule or customer-delivery date. Availability should therefore be checked against a local DENZA announcement rather than inferred from the production-form display.
