The brand’s 2026 concept previews design language that Acura says will first influence the next-generation RDX Hybrid—not a confirmed sports car. Separate announcements about an NSX movie car and restoration parts for older NSXs are also not evidence that the nameplate is returning.
Has Acura confirmed a new NSX?
No. As of October 7, 2026, Acura’s official materials reviewed here do not announce a production successor, identify a future car as an NSX, or give a launch date, price, or powertrain for one. Acura’s official lineup page lists the Integra, ADX, RDX, and MDX; it does not list the NSX as a current model: Acura News.
That makes “could be making a comeback” a possibility, not a confirmed product announcement. The distinction matters: a design concept can preview styling without signaling that a production vehicle—or a particular nameplate—has been approved.
What Acura’s 2026 concept does—and does not—signal
On August 7, 2026, Acura announced a concept for Monterey Car Week as a preview of a new design language led by Acura Creative Director Yasutake Tsuchida. Acura said that language would influence future models, beginning with the fourth-generation RDX Hybrid, expected in the coming years. The announcement did not call the concept an NSX or announce a production sports car: Acura’s concept announcement.

The confirmed connection is therefore to Acura’s future design direction, with the RDX Hybrid named as its first application. Any claim that the concept previews an NSX successor goes beyond what Acura stated.
Why the NSX comeback talk persists
The Avengers Roadster is an existing movie car
Acura said the NSX Roadster featured in The Avengers would appear publicly and that it planned to auction the car for charity in 2026. That announcement concerns an existing movie vehicle, not a new production model. The announcement does not establish the auction’s current status or timing, so those details should not be assumed: Acura News.

Heritage parts support existing first-generation cars
In March 2026, Honda announced reproduction parts for first-generation NSXs through U.S. Acura dealerships, with the program set to begin in summer 2026. This is support for cars already on the road, not evidence of a new NSX. Owners should ask a dealer about current stock and which parts are eligible: Honda Heritage Parts announcement.
What the last NSX tells us—and what it cannot tell us
Acura described the prior-generation successor in January 2015 as a mid-engine hybrid supercar, using a twin-turbocharged 75-degree V6, a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission, and a three-electric-motor Sport Hybrid system: Acura’s 2015 NSX announcement.

Those specifications describe that historical generation only. They do not establish the layout, engine, hybrid system, performance, or even the name of any future Acura sports car. Until Acura makes a direct announcement, treating the old car’s hardware as a blueprint for a new one would be speculation.

- Production status: Does Acura call the vehicle a production model, or only a concept?
- Nameplate: Does Acura explicitly identify it as an NSX?
- Timing: Is a launch window stated, rather than inferred from a concept debut?
- Specifications: Are body style and powertrain confirmed, rather than carried over from the previous generation?
Until those details are official, the most accurate description is that Acura has previewed new design language, while an NSX return remains unconfirmed.
