The QX80 details below refer specifically to the all-new 2025 U.S.-market model described in INFINITI Americas’ press kit; they should not be confused with the older V8-powered QX80 sold in other markets. The SBGE001 is assessed from published reference-specific review material, not firsthand testing by this writer.
Which Infiniti QX80 is being reviewed?
“QX80” covers more than one generation and market specification. This review focuses on the all-new 2025 QX80 in INFINITI Americas’ March 20, 2024 press kit. Its powertrain is a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 rated at 450 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. These are manufacturer specifications for the 2025 model, not a report of instrumented testing. INFINITI Americas’ 2025 QX80 press kit describes trim and drivetrain variation, so equipment should be checked against the specific vehicle.
An older INFINITI Middle East catalogue describes a different-generation QX80 with a 5.6-liter V8 producing 400 hp at 5,800 rpm and 560 Nm at 4,000 rpm, a seven-speed automatic, and All-Mode 4WD. Those figures belong to that older regional specification, not the 2025 U.S. model. INFINITI Middle East’s QX80 catalogue is useful when identifying an older vehicle, but it should not be used to describe the new generation.
What does the 2025 QX80 offer?
Powertrain and configuration
The 2025 press kit establishes a 450-hp, 516-lb-ft twin-turbo V6 and nine-speed automatic. Trim and drivetrain choices affect the vehicle’s configuration; consult the window sticker or build information for the exact SUV being considered rather than assuming every listed option is included.

- Power resrve Approx. 72 hours(3 days)
Suspension and ride equipment
INFINITI lists Electronic Air Suspension and Dynamic Digital Suspension as available equipment. Availability is not the same as standard fitment across the range. Verify the trim and installed equipment if these systems are important to ride-height adjustment or ride control.
Cabin, seating, and technology
The press kit covers the 2025 model’s cabin technology and seating, but the information summarized here does not establish a universal equipment specification for every trim. Buyers should compare the exact trim’s seating layout, infotainment and driver-assistance equipment, and installed options with the needs of their passengers. For a family or chauffeur-oriented use case, the decisive questions are whether the chosen layout accommodates the regular passenger count and whether its cabin features are present on that particular vehicle.
Passenger, cargo, and towing role
The QX80 is a full-size SUV intended for passenger and utility duties, but the cited material here does not establish a single cargo or towing figure applicable to all 2025 configurations. Check the model-year documentation and vehicle-specific rating for the exact trim and drivetrain before planning a trailer load or comparing cargo capacity.

Is the Infiniti QX80 worth buying?
That depends on which QX80 and how it will be used. The 2025 model’s documented V6 powertrain is materially different from the older regional V8 specification, and available suspension equipment varies by configuration. Decide first whether the selected vehicle’s seating, cargo needs, towing rating, and installed features suit its intended work. The available sources do not establish comparative ownership costs, long-term reliability, or current resale values, so those should not be inferred from the specifications alone.
What is the Grand Seiko SBGE001?
The SBGE001 is a stainless-steel Grand Seiko Spring Drive GMT with a black dial, bracelet, date display, and power-reserve indicator. Aaron Shapiro’s reference-specific review reports a 44 mm case, 14.7 mm thickness, and the 9R66 Spring Drive movement, with an approximately 72-hour power reserve. These are details for SBGE001, not specifications to transfer from the official Grand Seiko page for the different SBGE255 reference. Shapiro’s Grand Seiko SBGE001 Spring-Drive GMT review is the source for the model-specific description.
How does the SBGE001 fit and wear?
The 44 mm case and 14.7 mm thickness make wrist dimensions worth checking before purchase, especially for someone who prefers compact watches or wears close-fitting cuffs. Published lug-to-lug measurements conflict: BladeReviews gives 50 mm, while The 1916 Company lists 52.6 mm. Because those figures differ, treat lug-to-lug as unsettled and try the exact watch on wrist if fit is a concern. The 1916 Company’s SBGE001 review is the listing that gives the 52.6 mm measurement.

Shapiro describes the watch’s comfort, finishing, legibility, and travel usefulness from personal experience. Those are the reviewer’s impressions rather than this article’s test findings; the dial, bracelet, and case should be inspected in person to judge condition and fit for an individual buyer.

Movement and reserve
The SBGE001 uses Grand Seiko’s 9R66 Spring Drive movement and is reported to provide approximately 72 hours of power reserve. The reserve is about three days when fully wound, according to the reference-specific review; it is not a claim about a watch in unknown service condition.

GMT function
The SBGE001 combines GMT and date functions with a power-reserve indicator. Its GMT role is relevant to travelers who want a second time-zone display, but step-by-step instructions for setting the local hour hand are not included here: the available reference-specific material is insufficient to verify the procedure against an SBGE001 manual. Use the correct model manual rather than assuming a setting sequence from another Grand Seiko reference.
What should a used SBGE001 buyer check?
- Confirm that the watch is the exact SBGE001 reference; do not rely on a generic Spring Drive GMT description or specifications from SBGE255.
- Inspect the case, bezel, crystal, dial, hands, bracelet, clasp, and any supplied accessories for condition and consistency with the seller’s description.
- Ask for documented service history and clarify what is known about the watch’s operation and timekeeping.
- Check the seller’s reputation, return terms, and whether the listing photographs show the actual watch being sold.
- Try it on where possible, particularly because published lug-to-lug measurements differ.
Current availability, exact matching listings, and resale values are not established by the cited reviews. Treat each pre-owned offer as an individual watch and verify its identity and condition with the seller before buying.
