AAA’s Sunday, October 4, 2026 snapshot puts Indiana regular gasoline at $3.7529 per gallon and diesel at $6.7637 per gallon statewide. AAA’s public/commercial EV charging figure is $0.431 per kWh, but that reading is dated Saturday, October 3—not Sunday.

The week- and year-earlier figures shown are AAA’s comparison values. The snapshot establishes that regular and diesel were lower than the week-earlier figures but higher than the year-earlier ones; it does not explain why prices changed.
Indiana public EV charging price
AAA displayed Indiana’s commercial/public charging average at $0.431 per kilowatt-hour on October 3, 2026, compared with a displayed U.S. average of $0.418 per kWh. The map’s daily average covers public Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3/DC fast charging. It is not a home electricity rate or an October 4 reading. AAA EV charging prices.

AAA says historical EV price data is unavailable on this page, so it does not support a week-over-week or year-over-year charging-price trend.
Why the figures do not settle which vehicle costs less
Gasoline and diesel are priced per gallon, while charging is priced per kilowatt-hour. Those units cannot be compared directly to determine driving cost. A meaningful comparison also needs each vehicle’s efficiency and the driver’s actual electricity price—especially whether charging is at home or at public stations.
