Indian’s U.S. specifications list 126 hp and 133 lb-ft of torque; its European launch announcement lists 122 hp and 181.4 Nm. The engine is offered on select Chieftain PowerPlus, Roadmaster PowerPlus, Challenger and Pursuit models, with availability varying by market, year and trim.
What is the Indian PowerPlus 112?
The PowerPlus 112 is a liquid-cooled, 60-degree V-twin with overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder. It displaces 112 cubic inches (1,834 cc) and uses a six-speed constant-mesh transmission with true overdrive and an assist clutch, according to Indian’s U.S. PowerPlus specifications.
Indian lists a 6,500 rpm maximum engine speed. The company describes the PowerPlus family as high-revving and designed to deliver power across the rev range; those are manufacturer descriptions, not independent test results.
How much horsepower does the Indian PowerPlus 112 make?
Indian’s U.S. PowerPlus specifications publish 126 hp at 5,500 rpm and 133 lb-ft of peak torque at 3,600 rpm. The listed maximum engine speed is 6,500 rpm.

For Europe, Indian Motorcycle Media EMEA’s January 24, 2025, launch announcement gives the 2025 engine’s output as 122 horsepower and 181.4 Nm. A 2025 European Challenger page repeats those figures. The sources do not explain why the published ratings differ, so the numbers should be kept tied to their respective markets rather than treated as directly interchangeable.
How does the PowerPlus 112 compare with the 108?
Indian’s U.S. figures show a modestly larger displacement and higher published peak output for the 112. The differences below are arithmetic comparisons of the manufacturer’s specifications, not separate performance tests.

The U.S. figures come from Indian’s PowerPlus specifications; bore and stroke are listed in the 2025 Challenger and Pursuit owner’s manual. The 112 has 4 cu in more displacement, 4 hp more published peak power and 5 lb-ft more published peak torque; its listed torque peak is 200 rpm lower. These figures alone do not establish how either engine feels on the road.

Which Indian motorcycles have the PowerPlus 112?
Indian’s engine lineup names the Chieftain PowerPlus, Roadmaster PowerPlus, Indian Challenger and Indian Pursuit as applications for the 112. That list does not mean every year, trim or market version of those model families has the engine as standard equipment. Check the specification for the exact motorcycle you are considering.

That regional statement should not be applied automatically to U.S. or other-market models.

Indian’s 2026 accessory catalog lists a 112 PowerPlus Kit, part 2891561, for model-year 2025–2026 motorcycles that came with the 108 PowerPlus as standard equipment. The catalog says installation by an Indian dealer is required and describes the kit’s output as up to 126 hp and 133 lb-ft. Those are catalog claims, not independent measurements.

The stated fitment is limited: it is not confirmation that the kit fits every PowerPlus model or every motorcycle with a 108 engine. Before ordering, have an Indian dealer or Indian confirm compatibility for the specific model, year, market and original equipment. The catalog lists the kit; it does not establish current retailer stock.
What is the PowerPlus 112’s racing connection?
Polaris Investor Relations says Indian introduced the 112 after two years of development and refinement through Indian Motorcycle Racing, and that the engine powered the factory team on its way to the 2024 MotoAmerica King of the Baggers championship. Indian’s European launch announcement also connects the engine to that title. This supports describing racing as part of the engine’s development story; it does not establish that the production engine is mechanically identical to a race motor.

What the published specifications do—and do not—tell you
The published figures establish engine layout, displacement, rated output and listed applications. They do not, by themselves, establish independent horsepower results, street acceleration, fuel economy, reliability rates or a particular riding experience. Indian’s owner’s manual also cautions that it cannot test every combination of accessories and says safe operation with accessories or additional weight is the operator’s responsibility.
