Hyundai has presented the STARIA Camper as a concept for a potential all-electric camper tailored to Europe, based on the STARIA Electric. It features a powered pop-up roof, roof-mounted solar panel and camper-focused interior, but Hyundai’s official material reviewed here does not confirm production approval, a price or a sales date for a camper version.
What is the Hyundai STARIA Camper?
The STARIA Camper is Hyundai Motor Europe’s study of how its all-electric STARIA MPV could be adapted into a premium recreational vehicle. Hyundai described it as a concept for the European market, not a production model. The company said that a version approved for series production would be based on STARIA Electric. Hyundai’s 9 January 2026 announcement and its STARIA Camper concept page present the vehicle and equipment as concept features.
What camper features has Hyundai shown?
The concept combines flexible seating and sleeping space with equipment for cooking and camping. Hyundai’s descriptions include:
- Power-operated pop-up roof: The integrated roof opens up the parked living space and gives access to the kitchen area.
- Solar panel: A 520 W panel is integrated into the roof. Hyundai says it could generate up to 2.6 kWh per day, assuming an average of five hours of sunlight, to extend driving range or power onboard equipment. That is a manufacturer claim under stated conditions, not a guarantee of daily output.
- Refrigerator and shower: The concept includes a 36-litre refrigerator and a portable shower. Hyundai has not identified a retail shower brand or a specific compatible product.
- Adjustable smart glass: The rear glass can be electronically adjusted using a fold-down touchscreen.
- Seating and bed: The front captain’s chairs rotate electrically through 180 degrees toward the rear. The rear seats fold flat to form a sleeping area for two.
- Folding table: A table adds a surface for use inside the parked vehicle.
These details describe Hyundai’s concept; they should not be read as confirmed equipment or specifications for a vehicle available to order.

What range and charging figures apply to STARIA Electric?
Hyundai’s camper announcement and STARIA Electric product page give different estimated WLTP ranges for the electric base vehicle. Neither figure is a measured range for the camper concept, and the numbers should not be combined or treated as a promise for a converted van.

Hyundai’s product page says STARIA Electric was planned to go on sale in Korea and Europe in the first half of 2026. That timing concerns the electric MPV, not a camper version. The page also lists 7-seat LUXURY and 9-seat WAGON configurations; these are STARIA Electric variants, not confirmed camper layouts. Hyundai notes that specifications may vary by market and model.

Is the STARIA Camper coming to Europe?
Hyundai presented the concept for Europe and said it would remain under evaluation at CMT Stuttgart, held 17–25 January 2026, where visitors could share feedback. The company said it would announce further details if the concept received production approval. The official sources cited above do not establish whether approval followed, or confirm a camper price, sales date, ordering process, conversion partner or official accessories program.
For a purchase decision, distinguish the concept from STARIA Electric: Hyundai’s stated plans for the electric MPV do not confirm that its camper study will become a production vehicle. Check Hyundai’s current official announcements for any later decision.
