What is the Aprilia SR GT 400?
Aprilia presented the SR GT 400 among its 2026 models at EICMA in November 2025. Piaggio Group’s March 6, 2026 launch release describes it as a crossover for city use, travel and less-travelled routes. That is the manufacturer’s positioning, not a finding from an independent ride test. The tyres are described by Aprilia as all-terrain, intended for all-terrain surfaces and light off-road terrain; the available specifications do not establish it as a dedicated off-road motorcycle.
Its basic layout is a 399 cc, four-stroke, four-valve, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with electronic fuel injection and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). How much power does the SR GT 400 make?
The official figures vary by market page. Aprilia’s 2026 UK technical sheet lists 26.4 kW (36 HP) at 7,500 rpm and 37.7 Nm at 5,700 rpm. Aprilia Store USA & Canada lists 35 hp at 7,500 rpm. Those are separate regional statements; the available material does not explain the difference, so they should not be treated as a single reconciled figure. Check the specification for the market where the scooter is sold.

The UK sheet also publishes fuel consumption of 3.8 l/100 km and CO₂ emissions of 88 g/km. These are manufacturer figures, not independent test results. Piaggio Group says the tank holds 12 L and claims a range of more than 300 km; that range is likewise a manufacturer claim, not a separately measured result. What are the SR GT 400’s weight, seat height and dimensions?
Piaggio Group gives a running-order weight of 186 kg. Aprilia lists an 820 mm seat height, 190 mm minimum ground clearance and 1,535 mm wheelbase. The published overall dimensions are 2,165 mm long and 855 mm wide.

For a rider assessing fit or low-speed handling, seat height and running weight are useful starting points, but they do not establish how manageable the scooter feels in practice. The cited materials contain no independent riding assessment.
What chassis, tyres and brakes does it use?
The SR GT 400 uses a double-cradle frame made from high-resistance steel tubing. The UK technical sheet specifies a 41 mm upside-down front fork with 120 mm travel and twin rear hydraulic shocks with external gas reservoirs, preload adjustment and 120 mm travel.

Aprilia specifies a 120/70-16 front tyre and a 150/70-14 rear tyre. It says the Mitas Enduro Trail-ADV 2 tyres were developed specifically for the model and feature an all-terrain tread. That supports the light off-road and mixed-surface positioning, but does not by itself establish performance on demanding trails.
Braking hardware comprises a 300 mm floating front disc with a radial four-piston caliper and a 240 mm rear disc with a two-piston caliper. Aprilia describes dual-channel ABS with two mappings, including a front-only option. Its ATC traction control has two intervention levels and can be switched off. These are manufacturer-published equipment details; the available materials do not independently assess their effectiveness.

Is it suited to touring or dirt roads?
The specification suggests a scooter designed to cover more than a short urban commute: the 12 L tank, claimed range above 300 km, luggage accessories, and travel-oriented manufacturer positioning all point toward paved touring as well as everyday use. For rougher routes, Aprilia’s all-terrain tyres, 190 mm minimum ground clearance and configurable ABS and traction control are relevant features.
Keep the surface distinction clear. Aprilia describes the tyres for all-terrain surfaces and light off-road terrain, while its broader adventure language is promotional positioning. There is no independent ride test here to establish how the SR GT 400 performs on dirt, at touring speeds, or over long distances. Riders choosing between it and other scooters should compare the intended surface, seat height, weight, tyre and wheel sizes, ground clearance, control settings, luggage capacity and local dealer support rather than infer capability from styling alone.
