Certain 2020–2025 Hyundai Palisades are covered by a seat-belt buckle recall involving 568,580 potentially affected vehicles. The buckle on some vehicles may fail to latch, so owners should check their vehicle identification number (VIN) and, until the recall remedy is completed, confirm that each belt is secured after buckling.
What is the Palisade seat-belt recall?
NHTSA recall campaign 25V607 covers certain 2020–2025 Hyundai Palisade vehicles. NHTSA lists 568,580 potentially affected vehicles; that is the possible recall population, not a count of confirmed defective buckles or completed repairs. The word “certain” is important: a vehicle’s model year alone does not show whether it is included. NHTSA’s recall acknowledgment describes the issue as seat-belt buckles that may fail to latch.
A belt that has not latched may not restrain its occupant as intended in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. The recall does not mean that every Palisade or every buckle is defective.
How to check whether your Palisade is affected
- Find your vehicle’s 17-character VIN. It is commonly visible at the base of the windshield on the driver’s side and on vehicle registration or insurance documents.
- Enter the VIN in NHTSA’s recall lookup, or use Hyundai’s official recall channel.
- If the lookup shows an open recall, contact a Hyundai dealer to ask about the recall inspection and repair. If you are unsure how to interpret the result, have the dealer check the VIN.
NHTSA explains that searches by year, make and model return general recall information; a VIN search is the useful check for an individual vehicle. Transport Canada also lists Palisades from model years 2020 through 2025 in its recall alert. Owners in Canada can consult that alert and confirm vehicle-specific status with Hyundai or a dealer.

What to do until the recall repair is completed
NHTSA advises passengers to insert the belt firmly into the buckle with a quick, direct motion, then pull on the belt to confirm it is fully secured. Check each time the belt is fastened. If it does not latch securely, contact Hyundai or an authorized dealer for guidance rather than relying on an accessory or aftermarket buckle as a fix. This is an interim check, not a substitute for completing the recall remedy.
What repair does Hyundai describe?
The recall notice describes a dealer inspection and replacement of buckle assemblies as necessary, at no charge. Contact a Hyundai dealer with the VIN to confirm the vehicle’s recall status and ask about the remedy. The official material cited here does not establish current parts availability, appointment timing, repair completion rates or remedy availability; check directly with Hyundai or the dealer for current information.

How the warranty extension relates to the recall
Separately, NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation record for PE24021 says Hyundai began a seat-belt buckle warranty extension policy on April 3, 2025, for 2020–2025 Palisades in the United States and Canada. It describes coverage as 15 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first, measured from original retail delivery or first use. NHTSA says it closed the preliminary evaluation in view of Hyundai’s recall action while continuing to monitor the remedy.
