That is a conditional manufacturer figure, not an independent test. Available evidence supports a short comparison—not a reliable ranking of 10 distinct Hyundai models.
Verified Hyundai 0–60 mph times
These figures come from different model years, configurations, and test methods. They are useful reference points, not results from a controlled head-to-head comparison.
| Vehicle and configuration | Reported 0–60 mph | Source and conditions |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N | Approximately 3.25 seconds | Hyundai Motor America claim with N Launch Control and N Grin Boost engaged. Hyundai says actual results vary with options, conditions, driving habits, and vehicle condition. Hyundai USA |
| 2021 Hyundai Veloster N DCT | 4.8 seconds | Car and Driver instrumented test. The same article reports 5.2 seconds for its quickest manual run. Car and Driver |
| 2022 Hyundai Kona N | 4.8 seconds | Car and Driver independent test. Car and Driver |
| 2022 Hyundai Kona N | 5.3 seconds | MotorTrend test. Its run without NGS was 0.06 seconds slower, showing that launch setup affects the result. MotorTrend |
| 2022 Hyundai Elantra N manual | 5.9 seconds | MotorTrend independent test. The manual requires an upshift before 60 mph, affecting the time. MotorTrend |
The list is ordered by reported time, but the IONIQ figure is an automaker claim while the other results are outlet tests. Differences in launch conditions and test procedures mean the decimals should not be read as a laboratory-controlled ranking across all five entries.
What the times say about each Hyundai
2026 IONIQ 5 N: approximately 3.25 seconds
Hyundai’s figure applies when both N Launch Control and N Grin Boost are engaged. It is the quickest supported current official claim in this comparison. The stated qualifiers matter: a result without those settings, or in different conditions, is not established by the same figure.

2021 Veloster N DCT: 4.8 seconds
Car and Driver recorded 4.8 seconds in its DCT test and 5.2 seconds for its quickest manual run. Those are results from that outlet’s tested cars, not a guarantee for every Veloster N. The difference also illustrates why transmission configuration belongs alongside an acceleration time.
2022 Kona N: 4.8 or 5.3 seconds in separate tests
Car and Driver reported 4.8 seconds, while MotorTrend reported 5.3 seconds. MotorTrend’s own NGS comparison found a 0.06-second slower run without NGS. These are separate publication tests, not competing measurements of one standardized setup; the gap should not be attributed to a single cause on the available figures.

2022 Elantra N manual: 5.9 seconds
MotorTrend’s tested manual Elantra N reached 60 mph in 5.9 seconds. The required shift before 60 mph is a relevant part of interpreting that result; it does not mean every Elantra N configuration will record the same time.
Why a 10-car ranking is not supported
The available figures do not establish ten distinct Hyundai sports or performance cars with comparable, citation-backed 0–60 mph results. Filling ten places by guessing, counting the same car’s transmission versions as separate models, or mixing incompatible measurements would make the ranking look more certain than the evidence allows.

This is therefore a comparison of the supported vehicles and tests, not a claim that these are Hyundai’s only performance models or a definitive ranking of every model ever sold. Legacy coupes and additional trims would need model year, engine and transmission configuration, and attributable test data verified before they could be ranked responsibly.
How to compare Hyundai 0–60 figures
- Keep the endpoint consistent. A 0–100 km/h time is not a 0–60 mph time. Hyundai’s official Elantra N page lists 5.3 seconds to 100 km/h with the N DCT; it cannot be substituted into this ranking as a 0–60 result. Hyundai N Elantra N specifications
- Separate manufacturer claims from instrumented tests. The IONIQ 5 N number is Hyundai’s conditional claim; Car and Driver and MotorTrend report results for their specific tested vehicles.
- Read the configuration and launch details. Transmission, launch control, boost settings, and other test conditions can affect the recorded time. A model name alone does not describe the test.
- Treat each result as specific to the tested example. Independent outlet times are evidence of those tests, not guaranteed performance for every vehicle of the same model and year.
What 0–60 mph does—and does not—rank
Acceleration is one performance measure. These figures do not establish which Hyundai is best for handling, reliability, ownership cost, value, or driver enjoyment. A buyer choosing among them should treat the times as a narrow comparison of straight-line acceleration, not an overall verdict on the cars.
