Hyundai reported 10,327 Palisades sold in September, up 52% year over year; Kia’s record month included the Telluride, though no Telluride-specific sales count was reported.
Hyundai’s September and third-quarter totals set records
Hyundai Motor America sold 77,439 vehicles in the United States in September 2026, 9% more than in September 2025. The company called it its best September ever. Its third-quarter total was 246,896, up 3% year over year, while sales from January through September reached 697,464, also 3% higher than the same period in 2025. Hyundai Motor America’s Oct. 1 release provides the company and model totals.
Those are U.S. sales figures. They describe September, the third quarter, and year to date—not a January start to the year. Hyundai Motor North America President and CEO Randy Parker attributed the results to growth across the company’s SUV, sedan, and hybrid lineups.
Palisade sales rose in September, but the periods differ
Hyundai sold 10,327 Palisades in the United States in September 2026, a 52% increase from September 2025. That sharp monthly gain did not carry through to every comparison period:

The September percentage compares one month with September 2025; the Q3 figure compares the full quarter with Q3 2025. The year-to-date figure covers the first nine months. Read together, they show a strong September and a modest year-to-date increase, alongside a slightly lower quarterly total.
Kia also had a record September, but Telluride’s count is unavailable
Kia America sold 77,009 vehicles in the United States in September 2026, up 18% year over year. Yonhap News Agency reported that it was Kia’s best-ever September and named the Telluride among the models contributing to the result. The report does not provide a September Telluride unit count or a Telluride growth rate, so the company’s record cannot be attributed to a specific model total. Yonhap’s Oct. 2 report gives the Kia company-level figure and identifies the contributing models.

What the 2026 Palisade is
Hyundai describes the 2026 Palisade as a three-row SUV, with a hybrid variant and an XRT PRO trim. These are manufacturer-provided product details, not independent assessments of performance or value. The company introduced the redesigned model at the New York International Auto Show in April 2025. Hyundai’s launch announcement includes the model description and launch-period comments from Olabisi Boyle, senior vice president of product planning and mobility strategy.

- Hyundai: the reported record applies to the company’s U.S. September sales and third-quarter total; the Palisade’s own month, quarter, and year-to-date results are separate comparisons.
- Kia: the record is for Kia America’s U.S. September sales. The available report identifies Telluride as a contributor but does not quantify its contribution.
- Do not treat the company totals as model totals: Hyundai’s 77,439 and Kia’s 77,009 are brand-level September figures, not Palisade or Telluride sales counts.
Hyundai separately reported that U.S. Palisade retail sales grew about 13% in 2025 compared with 2024, and that the all-new model passed 40,000 retail units in its first eight months of U.S. sales, with hybrids accounting for 25%. Those are manufacturer-reported historical retail figures, not the total-sales counts above. Hyundai’s Feb. 11, 2026 article provides that historical context.
