What is the Hublot MP-05 LaFerrari All Black?
It is a highly unusual, manually wound Hublot watch created around the LaFerrari name and an unconventional display. Instead of conventional hands sweeping over a dial, the hours and minutes are shown on cylinders. A vertically mounted tourbillon and the watch’s long reserve are also central to its design. The All Black variant gives the concept a black PVD titanium case and rubber strap, according to Hublot’s technical sheet for reference 905.ND.0001.RX.
Time+Tide reviewer Felix Scholz called the watch “Hublot’s version of a concept car” and described it as “huge on the wrist.” Those are his published impressions, not measurements from a new review. The 2015 article also reports that this All Black edition was limited to 50 pieces.
How does the display and movement work?
The display is organized around rotating cylinders for hours and minutes rather than a familiar analog dial. Hublot’s technical sheet also lists a power-reserve display, seconds, and a suspended vertical tourbillon. That arrangement puts the mechanism and its unusual architecture in view, making the watch’s visual character as much a part of the experience as reading the time.

Hublot specifies 11 barrels coupled in series to deliver a 50-day power reserve. The same 2013 sheet reports 637 components, 108 jewels, and a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz). These are specifications for the 2013 MP-05 LaFerrari record, rather than a universal specification for every watch carrying the MP-05 name.
How long is the MP-05 LaFerrari power reserve?
Hublot’s 2013 technical sheet states 50 days, or 1,200 hours, for the MP-05 LaFerrari. The reserve comes from the movement’s 11 series-coupled barrels. GPHG’s separate catalog entry for reference 905.NX.0001.RX also lists 1,200 hours. The figures align, but the references identify separate records and should not be treated as interchangeable variant specifications.

What does the All Black version look like on the wrist?
The black PVD titanium case and rubber strap establish the All Black treatment; the cylindrical display and exposed vertical tourbillon keep it from looking like a conventional blacked-out sports watch. Its presence is deliberate rather than discreet. Scholz’s 2015 hands-on review characterized it as huge on the wrist, a subjective assessment that conveys the watch’s theatrical scale without substituting for a measured wrist-fit test.
Be careful when consulting dimensions online: Hublot’s sheet lists 45.8 × 39.5 mm and 15.30 mm for the movement, not the exterior case. GPHG gives 60 × 51 mm and 20 mm thickness for its 2014 catalog record, reference 905.NX.0001.RX. Those dimensions belong to that distinct entry and should not be assigned to the All Black reference without confirmation.
How do you wind and set the Hublot MP-05?
Time+Tide reports that the watch is supplied with a dedicated electronic tool, described as screwdriver-like, for winding and setting. The review is useful for understanding that ordinary crown operation is not the whole story, but it is not a substitute for the correct operating procedure.

What did the MP-05 LaFerrari All Black cost?
Time+Tide reported an Australian recommended retail price of $355,000 for the All Black in 2015. That is a historical Australian price, not a present-day asking price or resale valuation. GPHG lists CHF 300,000 excluding VAT for its separate 2014 catalog record, reference 905.NX.0001.RX; that figure is likewise a historical catalog price, not a current quote.
No reliable current secondary-market price or inventory is established here. Because the model is limited and the available prices refer to different dates and records, a buyer should seek a current, authenticated quote for the exact reference and condition rather than extrapolating from either historical figure.
