The Luxeed R7 EREV’s headline 1,673 km figure is a manufacturer-published CLTC combined-range rating for the Max+ trim—not its electric-only range and not a promise of real-world driving distance. Luxeed lists that trim at RMB 269,800 in China, with 360 km of CLTC electric-only range. The “just over $40,000” wording is a rough currency conversion, not an official U.S. price.
What does the R7’s 1,673 km range mean?
Luxeed describes the R7 EREV as capable of up to 1,673 km of combined CLTC range, while its official configuration table assigns that figure to the EREV Max+ trim. The same trim is listed with a 53.4 kWh battery and 360 km of CLTC electric-only range. In other words, 1,673 km is the combined-range claim for the range-extended powertrain; it is not how far the car travels on battery power alone. Luxeed’s R7 model page and configuration table publish these specifications.
CLTC is the test cycle behind the manufacturer’s published figures. The cited sources do not provide an independently measured real-world range for the R7 EREV, so the 1,673 km rating should not be read as a guaranteed distance in everyday driving.
How much does the Luxeed R7 EREV cost?
Luxeed’s current official configuration table lists the EREV Max+ at RMB 269,800 and gives RMB 249,800 as the starting suggested retail price for the R7 range. These are China-market prices stated in yuan. The official table does not give a U.S. MSRP or another overseas-market price, so a dollar conversion should not be treated as an official price or as the cost of importing and registering the vehicle.

Why April 2025 reports quote different prices
The figures reported around the R7 EREV’s China launch belong to earlier sales stages and trim announcements. On April 7, 2025, presale coverage reported a starting presale price of RMB 318,000. The April 17 launch report described two EREV trims priced at RMB 299,800 and RMB 319,800. Those historical figures are not the same as the prices in Luxeed’s current configuration table. What kind of vehicle is the R7 EREV?
The R7 is a coupe-style SUV offered in both battery-electric (BEV) and range-extended (EREV, also called REEV) versions. The EREV should not be confused with a pure battery EV: Luxeed lists separate electric-only and combined-range figures for it, while the BEV models are distinct variants. Chery’s September 17, 2025 HKEX filing described the R7 as a mid- to large-sized coupe SUV available in BEV and REEV versions, with a PRC MSRP range of RMB 249,800–339,800 at the time. That filing is historical lineup context, not a specification sheet for every current trim. Chery’s HKEX filing provides the dated description.

For a trim-by-trim comparison, use Luxeed’s configuration table rather than applying one version’s figures to the whole R7 family. It lists different variants and their respective equipment and specifications.

No. The 1,673 km headline refers to the April 2025 EREV launch cycle, not the newest R7 update. CnEVPost reported on September 28, 2026, that Luxeed launched an updated R7 in China with a starting price of RMB 239,800; the report said the BEV version offered up to 855 km of CLTC range. Those are figures for the later update and its BEV version, not the EREV Max+’s combined-range specification. CnEVPost’s September 2026 report covers that update.
