In the U.S., the Daytona 500 airs on FOX. You can watch it without cable with an over-the-air antenna, FOX One, or a live-TV streaming service that carries your local FOX affiliate. The 2026 race was scheduled for Sunday, February 15, at 2:30 p.m. ET; that event has already taken place, so confirm the next Daytona 500’s date, time, and rights before subscribing.

This guide focuses on the legal options that apply when the race is carried by FOX. Local-channel availability, prices, free trials, device support, and replay rules can change.

Quick answer

  • Network: FOX broadcast network, not FS1, for the 2026 Daytona 500.
  • Free option: An antenna, if you can receive your local FOX station.
  • Direct streaming option: FOX One, if its current plan and availability include the race in your market.
  • Live-TV alternatives: Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, Sling, YouTube TV, and DIRECTV Stream, subject to local FOX coverage.
  • Best DVR option: A service with cloud DVR, such as YouTube TV or another provider whose current plan includes recording.
  • Important warning: A service advertising FOX Sports does not necessarily carry your local FOX broadcast station.

Check the official NASCAR viewing guide for the applicable season and event listing.

Watch the Daytona 500 free with an antenna

An antenna is the cheapest legal choice if your home receives a usable signal from a local FOX affiliate. There is no monthly fee, and the broadcast is available on a compatible television without a streaming subscription.

Mount the antenna high, near a window facing local broadcast towers (Check "dtv gov maps" for available channels), to avoid obstacles and interference. Actual Reception depends on location, terrain, and weather, always re-scan for channels after moving the antenna. If you have any issues, please contact us. We will provide professional service and a satisfactory solution for you.

Reception depends on your address, terrain, distance from the transmitter, nearby buildings, wall materials, and antenna placement. An antenna receives a local broadcast signal; it does not provide a universal national FOX feed everywhere.

How to set up an antenna

  1. Check whether a FOX affiliate serves your viewing address using a reputable local-station or reception lookup.
  2. Choose an indoor antenna for strong nearby signals, an amplified model where appropriate, or an outdoor antenna for weaker or obstructed reception.
  3. Connect the antenna’s coaxial cable to the TV’s antenna or RF input.
  4. Open the television’s settings and run an automatic channel scan. The exact menu wording varies by manufacturer.
  5. Find and test the local FOX channel well before race day.

If FOX does not appear reliably, move the antenna, rescan, or consider an outdoor installation. Apartments, rural homes, and locations surrounded by obstructions may need a streaming backup.

Watch directly through FOX One

FOX One is FOX’s direct-to-consumer streaming service. FOX describes it as a way to watch FOX Sports programming and NASCAR, including the Daytona 500, without a traditional television provider.

Before signing up, verify the details on FOX’s current product and signup pages:

  • the current monthly and annual price;
  • whether the Daytona 500 is included in the base plan;
  • whether a trial or promotional offer is available;
  • local FOX availability in your ZIP code;
  • supported televisions, streaming devices, browsers, phones, and tablets;
  • simultaneous-stream limits;
  • DVR and replay functionality; and
  • how long an on-demand replay remains available.

Do not assume that FOX One’s current price, trial terms, or local-channel coverage will remain unchanged. Those details should be checked immediately before purchase.

Typical FOX One setup

  1. Open FOX’s official NASCAR or FOX One signup page.
  2. Confirm the plan includes the race and is available at your location.
  3. Create an account and install the service on your intended device.
  4. Sign in before race day and locate the live event listing.
  5. Test playback and review renewal and cancellation terms.

Live-TV streaming services that may carry the race

NASCAR’s 2026 FOX guide listed the following live-TV platforms for FOX Sports programming. Availability of the local FOX broadcast station varies by market, especially with Sling, so enter your ZIP code before subscribing.

Service Best for What to verify Main caution
Fubo Sports-focused households Local FOX affiliate, current entry plan, trial terms, DVR, and regional availability Plan contents and local channels vary.
YouTube TV Broad channel coverage and cloud DVR Local FOX, current base-plan price, promotions, DVR terms, and cancellation rules May cost more than a one-event solution.
Hulu + Live TV Viewers who also want Hulu’s entertainment catalog Local FOX, current package, DVR, trial eligibility, and renewal date Less economical if you only want one race.
Sling Price-conscious viewers in eligible markets Whether your ZIP code receives local FOX and which package is required Local FOX availability is not universal.
DIRECTV Stream A fuller traditional-TV replacement Local FOX, package requirements, trial terms, and device support Usually difficult to justify for one race alone.

Use the providers’ official signup pages—such as Fubo, YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Sling, and DIRECTV Stream—to check current pricing, promotions, taxes, add-ons, and local-channel lineups. Do not rely on an old price quoted in an article.

Can a free trial cover race day?

It can, but free trials are not guaranteed. Eligibility, length, billing dates, and cancellation behavior vary by provider and may change.

Can you use the FOX Sports app without cable?

The FOX Sports app may be free to download, but downloading it does not automatically provide a free live stream. Live access generally requires authentication through an eligible paid-TV provider or streaming service. FOX One may provide a separate direct-subscription route, depending on the current product structure.

The usual authentication path is:

  1. Download the FOX Sports app on a supported device.
  2. Open the app and choose Live TV.
  3. Select your television or streaming provider.
  4. Sign in with the provider’s current credentials.
  5. Find the Daytona 500 event listing and start playback.

Interface labels can change. If the app reports that you are unauthorized, confirm that your provider carries the relevant local FOX service and that your subscription is active.

Services that do not cover the Daytona 500 by default

The 2026 rights split matters. The Daytona 500 was assigned to FOX, so a subscription to another NASCAR platform did not automatically include that race:

  • Prime Video: carried five 2026 Cup Series races, but not the Daytona 500.
  • NBC, USA, and Peacock: carried later portions of the NASCAR season, not the 2026 Daytona 500 broadcast.
  • Max and truTV: may carry practice and qualifying during parts of the schedule, but not the Daytona 500 race broadcast.
  • The CW: carries selected Xfinity and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series programming, not this Cup Series race.

Always check the official NASCAR schedule for the specific season. Broadcast rights can change.

Practice, qualifying, and the Duels are separate listings

The main race’s network does not guarantee that every Daytona Speedweeks session uses the same outlet. FOX Sports also carried Daytona 500 practice and qualifying in the 2026 schedule, while surrounding events can appear on different FOX networks or services.

If you want practice, qualifying, or the Duels, check each event individually in the official NASCAR schedule and viewing guide rather than assuming your race-day subscription covers every session.

Troubleshooting and backup plans

Local FOX is missing

The service may not carry your affiliate, your ZIP code may fall outside its coverage area, or a temporary carriage dispute may have removed the station. Check the provider’s local-channel lookup, try an antenna, or compare another live-TV service. A national FOX-branded channel is not automatically a substitute for the local broadcast station.

The app says you are not authorized

  1. Confirm the subscription is active.
  2. Sign out and sign back in.
  3. Use the provider’s current login credentials.
  4. Confirm that the provider carries the required FOX service.
  5. Check whether the event is available through FOX One rather than the authenticated FOX Sports app.

The stream buffers

Test playback before race time, use wired Ethernet or a strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection when possible, close competing downloads, and avoid making a first-time account or device update immediately before the race. An antenna or second authorized service is a useful fallback.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

You are watching away from home

Local-channel rights can follow your location, not simply your billing address. Travel, VPN use, and location mismatches may affect access. Check the provider’s current location rules instead of assuming your home lineup will work everywhere.

International viewers

This is a U.S.-specific guide. NASCAR distribution varies by country, and a U.S. FOX subscription may not be available or valid abroad. International viewers should check the rights holder and streaming options for their own country.

Audio-only option

If you want commentary rather than video, SiriusXM carried live Daytona coverage in 2026. That is an audio alternative, not a live video stream; confirm current availability for the next race.

Legal viewing matters

Avoid unauthorized streams. They can disappear during the race, buffer badly, expose viewers to malware or deceptive ads, and infringe copyright. The reliable legal choices are a functioning antenna, FOX One where available, or an authorized live-TV provider carrying your local FOX station.
