Short answer: The 2025 F1 Spanish Grand Prix was broadcast live and free on Telecinco in Spain. The race started at 3:00 p.m. CEST on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Viewers in Spain also had event-specific free access through the DAZN app. In the United States, the race was on ESPN, with no free over-the-air broadcast channel; an eligible Fubo free trial was the temporary no-cost workaround.
The free-channel answer by country
| Location | Live race option | What free meant |
|---|---|---|
| Spain | Telecinco | Free-to-air television with no pay-TV subscription required |
| Spain, online | Mitele at the time, plus a special DAZN app event | Mitele carried the Telecinco stream; DAZN offered the 2025 event free as a promotion |
| United States | ESPN | No free broadcast channel; an eligible Fubo trial was a temporary option |
| United Kingdom | Sky Sports live; Channel 4 highlights | Channel 4 was free for highlights, not for the live race |
Broadcast rights are territorial. Telecinco was the answer for viewers physically in Spain, not a worldwide free stream. A broadcaster that was free in Austria, Belgium, Germany or Switzerland could likewise be unavailable outside its licensed market.
Spain: Telecinco showed the race live and free
For viewers in Spain, the clearest route was to tune a television to Telecinco on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Mediaset España announced an agreement with DAZN, which held Spain’s main Formula 1 rights through 2026, to show the Spanish Grand Prix free across Mediaset’s channels. The agreement made Telecinco the free-to-air live channel for the race. Mediaset’s announcement also set out the channel split for the rest of the weekend.
- Be in Spain, where Telecinco’s terrestrial broadcast was licensed.
- Select Telecinco on the television.
- Watch the pre-race coverage before the scheduled 3:00 p.m. CEST race start.
- If using a terrestrial television, a working TV antenna was sufficient; no internet connection or F1 subscription was required.
The free status came from the special Mediaset–DAZN arrangement for this event. It did not mean that every 2025 F1 race was generally free on Telecinco or DAZN.

| Practice 3 | Saturday, May 31 | Telecinco |

So, if the goal was specifically the Grand Prix, Telecinco was the channel to remember. If the goal was the complete weekend, the DAZN app offered a separate option.
Spain online: Mitele at race time, Mediaset Infinity afterward
On June 1, 2025, the relevant Mediaset streaming brand was Mitele. The online route was the Mitele Telecinco live page, where viewers could select the live channel feed. The historical process was:
- Open the Mitele Telecinco live page.
- Select the Telecinco live stream.
- Create and verify an account if the service requested one.
- Start the stream before the scheduled race time rather than waiting until the lights went out.
Mediaset announced on May 29, 2025, that Mitele would transition to Mediaset Infinity on June 24—after the Spanish Grand Prix had already taken place. The platform announcement therefore matters when reading an older guide: Mitele is the correct name for the race-day instructions, while Infinity is the later successor.
Today, the Telecinco live page on Mediaset Infinity is the relevant current destination. Mediaset describes the basic web and app service as free, with live and on-demand access to most linear channels and paid tiers for additional features. That does not establish that the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix is still available live or on demand there. A current live channel page is not automatically an archive of every past broadcast.
The separate free DAZN app promotion
DAZN also announced that the entire 2025 Spanish Grand Prix weekend would be available at no cost in its app. The offer covered Formula 1 practice, qualifying and the race, as well as support categories, with commentary and coverage from Antonio Lobato, Pedro de la Rosa and Toni Cuquerella. See the DAZN event announcement for the original terms.

The practical race-weekend process was:
- Download the DAZN app on a supported device.
- Search for the Spanish Grand Prix event listing.
- Confirm that the free event access was visible before relying on it.
- Sign in or register if prompted by the app.
- Open the event before the session begins.
This was an event-specific promotion, not evidence that a normal DAZN F1 subscription—or every F1 race—was free. The DAZN listing could also be subject to Spanish location restrictions, account requirements, advertising and the capabilities of the particular phone, browser, smart-TV or streaming device.
United States: ESPN carried the race, not a free broadcast channel
U.S. viewers did not have a free over-the-air network showing the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix. ESPN carried the main race telecast. ESPN’s published schedule listed race-day coverage beginning at 7:30 a.m. Eastern, with the race scheduled to start at approximately 9:00 a.m. Eastern. ESPN’s schedule also placed practice and qualifying on ESPN2.
A contemporaneous U.S. viewing guide promoted a Fubo free trial as a way for eligible new subscribers to receive ESPN without paying during the trial period. That should be described accurately as a temporary trial, not as a free ESPN channel. Eligibility, trial length, required payment details, renewal price and cancellation terms can change, so those conditions had to be checked before signing up. The intended process was:
Recommended Free Tools
- Confirm that the Fubo offer was available to the user as a new subscriber.
- Check that the selected plan carried ESPN in the user’s area.
- Start the trial before ESPN’s race coverage began.
- Watch the ESPN feed through Fubo.
- Cancel before the trial ended if the goal was to avoid a paid renewal.
The Fubo trial was only a possible race-day workaround. It is not a current way to watch a past event live.
Why ESPN+ was not the guaranteed main-race substitute
ESPN’s schedule identified ESPN as the network for the main race telecast. It listed ESPN+ and Disney+ for alternate viewing features such as Driver Tracker and mixed onboard-camera views. Those options should not be presented as a guaranteed standalone replacement for the primary ESPN broadcast.

2025 Spanish Grand Prix schedule and time conversions

- 8:00 a.m. Central

- 6:00 a.m. Pacific
- 2:00 p.m. British Summer Time
Do not confuse a network’s coverage start with the race start. In the U.S., ESPN’s 7:30 a.m. listing was the beginning of race-day coverage; the scheduled race itself was approximately 9:00 a.m. Eastern. Practice and qualifying also aired on different channels from the race.
Other legal free-to-air options abroad
There were additional territory-specific routes, but they should not be treated as globally accessible streams:
- Austria: ORF 1 carried the Spanish Grand Prix live according to ORF’s 2025 Formula 1 schedule.
- Belgium: RTBF was listed as a free live F1 option in contemporaneous broadcaster guides.
- Germany: RTL was reported to carry selected 2025 races, including Spain.
- Switzerland: SRF, RTS and RSI were reported as free-to-air options for the race.
- United Kingdom: Sky Sports carried the live race, while Channel 4 offered free highlights rather than a live Spanish Grand Prix broadcast.
The Crash.net international guide and GPFans broadcaster comparison are useful historical cross-checks, but local rights and availability can change. Channel 4 highlights, in particular, were not equivalent to watching the race live.
Free channel, free app event, free trial or highlights?
These descriptions are often blurred in F1 viewing guides, but they mean different things:

- Snell SA2025 Certified, made of Fiber Reinforce Plastic(FRP) shell, Double D-ring equipped, more lightweight and higher safety.
- Compatible with HANS/HNR M6 Threaded Inserts(not included), convenient for you to install Head&Neck Support devices to protect head and neck from getting hurt in auto racing sports.

- Tear-off posts button on the visor allows to install tear-off posts on the visor so as to ensure a clear view.
| Term | Meaning in this race guide |
|---|---|
| Free-to-air channel | Telecinco in Spain. Anyone within the licensed broadcast area could watch with ordinary television reception. |
| Free app event | DAZN’s special Spanish Grand Prix weekend promotion. It was free for that event, not a permanent F1 access policy. |
| Free trial | Fubo’s temporary U.S. offer for eligible new subscribers. Payment details and cancellation requirements applied. |
| Free highlights | Channel 4 in the U.K. provided highlights, not the live Spanish Grand Prix. |
| Pirate stream | Not a legitimate viewing option and not recommended. |
This distinction explains why a headline saying watch the race for free could be accurate in Spain but misleading in the United States or the United Kingdom.

F1 broadcast rights are sold by territory. A Telecinco or Mitele stream intended for Spain might be blocked for a viewer abroad, while an ORF, RTBF or other domestic stream might be unavailable outside its own market. A VPN should not be treated as a guaranteed solution: access depends on the broadcaster’s terms, local law and technical geo-blocking. The safest legal approach is to use the broadcaster assigned to the country where you are watching, rather than assuming that a Spanish free stream works worldwide.
Troubleshooting the original race-day routes
The current page does not show the 2025 race
That is expected. The race was held on June 1, 2025. The current Telecinco page on Mediaset Infinity is a live-TV destination, not proof that the past event remains available. For a replay, check the broadcaster’s current on-demand catalog or the official Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix page, but do not assume that either page guarantees a complete free replay.
The stream asks for an account
Free does not always mean anonymous. Mitele or the DAZN event listing could request registration or verification. Complete that process before the session begins, and confirm that the account is being created in the correct territory.
The app is not available on the television
App support varies by smart-TV platform, phone, browser and region. If the relevant app was unavailable, the practical alternatives in Spain were Telecinco through an antenna or the service’s supported web browser. Always test the device and internet connection before the scheduled start; free streams may include advertising or experience more buffering than a paid broadcast.
Best Value
- Safety: The motorcycle helmets AU-T801 Meets or exceeds FMVSS-218 and DOT Safety Standards. The excellent ABS shell plus stable EPS foam brings strong impact resistance performance and greatly improves riding safety.
- Lightweight: Integrated fin and shell design means this is an extremely lightweight motorcycle helmet for Adult men and women. Even a long time ride will put your neck and shoulder in a relaxed state.
- Two Visors: The Full Face motorcycle helmet is equipped with a colorful visor, and a replacement clear visor. Provide a sufficient guarantee for your day and night riding view.
- Design Details: The visor lock design means less wind noise and better security. Multiple vents are designed to better promote ventilation inside the motorcycle helmet. Removable and washable liners further enhance the riding experience.
- Multiple Function: Perfect for motorcycle, street bike, racing, motocross, ATV, or other outdoor activities. Also a good choice for for people who are just starting to ride.
The broadcast is on, but the race has not started
Coverage and the green-light time are different. ESPN’s U.S. coverage began at 7:30 a.m. Eastern, but the scheduled race start was approximately 9:00 a.m. The Spanish broadcast also included pre-race programming before the 3:00 p.m. CEST start.
The channel is missing or unavailable
First confirm the country, date and session. In Spain, Friday practice was on Be Mad, while Saturday’s final practice and qualifying and Sunday’s race were on Telecinco. In the U.S., the first four listed sessions were on ESPN2 and the race was on ESPN. A channel that was correct for qualifying was not necessarily correct for the Grand Prix.
What the common viewing guides got wrong
- DAZN was not the only Spanish option: Mediaset confirmed the free Telecinco broadcast, while DAZN separately offered free app access for the event.
- U.S. free viewing was not a free channel: Fubo meant a temporary trial, with eligibility and cancellation conditions.
- Channel 4 was not live coverage in the U.K.: it offered highlights for this race.
- Mitele and Mediaset Infinity are not interchangeable dates: Mitele was the service name on June 1; Infinity launched on June 24, after the race.
- ESPN+ was not automatically the main ESPN race feed: the published schedule associated ESPN+ and Disney+ with alternate views such as Driver Tracker and onboard cameras.
For the original race, the most accurate one-line answer remains: Telecinco in Spain, live and free; ESPN in the U.S., with no free over-the-air channel.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still watch the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix live?
No. The race took place on Sunday, June 1, 2025. The Telecinco and Mediaset Infinity live pages are current live-TV destinations, not a guarantee of a live or archived 2025 race. Check the broadcaster’s on-demand catalog or the official F1 event page for any current replay or highlights offering.
Was the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix free on DAZN for everyone?
No. DAZN offered a special free Spanish Grand Prix weekend in its app, including F1 sessions and support categories. It was an event-specific promotion in Spain, not proof that all F1 races were free on DAZN or that the offer worked outside its licensed territory.
Could U.S. viewers watch the race free without cable?
There was no free U.S. over-the-air channel for the race. ESPN carried the main telecast. An eligible new subscriber could potentially use a Fubo free trial, but that required checking the offer terms, supplying payment details and canceling before renewal to avoid a charge.
Did Channel 4 show the Spanish Grand Prix live in the U.K.?
No. Sky Sports carried the live U.K. broadcast. Channel 4 offered free highlights, which was not the same as a live race stream.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: In Spain, Telecinco was the free live channel for the 2025 F1 Spanish Grand Prix, with the race scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CEST on June 1, 2025. Mitele was the online Mediaset brand at the time, and DAZN offered a separate free event stream in its app. In the U.S., ESPN carried the race and Fubo’s trial was only a temporary workaround—not a free broadcast channel. Because the race has already taken place, current pages should be checked for an actual replay rather than treated as live coverage.
