The 2025 Chinese Grand Prix Sprint is no longer live. It ran on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Shanghai—03:00 UTC, or approximately 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, March 21. If you are looking for it now, the legitimate options are the official Formula 1 race hub, its available highlights and reports, and—if your account and country still qualify—the F1 TV archive.
When the event was live, U.S. viewers could watch the Sprint through ESPNU or use F1 TV Pro or F1 TV Premium where available. An ESPN+ subscription by itself should not be assumed to have included this particular Sprint.
Original U.S. broadcast: ESPNU
For viewers in the United States, ESPN’s 2025 schedule listed the Chinese Grand Prix Sprint on ESPNU, with programming beginning at approximately 10:55 p.m. ET on Friday, March 21, 2025. The expected Sprint start was about 11:00 p.m. ET. ESPN’s schedule also placed other Chinese Grand Prix sessions on ESPN2 and the full Sunday Grand Prix on ESPN.
That channel assignment matters because not every service carrying an ESPN-branded subscription necessarily carried the ESPNU network feed. ESPN’s schedule is the best reference for the original U.S. channel assignment, but it does not establish that every current streaming package still includes ESPNU. See the original ESPN schedule for the historical listing.

How the cable-free ESPN route worked
- Choose a live-TV streaming package that explicitly carried ESPNU in your ZIP code.
- Check whether ESPNU required a particular sports tier or add-on.
- Confirm the service’s current channel lineup and regional availability before subscribing.
- Use the provider’s app, website, or supported streaming device to watch the authenticated ESPNU feed.
Because the Sprint is a completed event, there is no current subscription recommendation or price that can be guaranteed from the 2025 schedule. Services change their channel lineups, pricing, promotional terms, and sports packages.
F1 TV Pro and Premium: the direct F1 option
Formula 1’s event-specific streaming guide listed F1 TV Pro and F1 TV Premium as direct ways to watch the 2025 Chinese Grand Prix coverage in selected locations. F1 TV Pro was described as providing live coverage of every session, including practice, Sprint qualifying, the Sprint, qualifying, and the Grand Prix. F1 TV Premium was promoted with live F1 coverage in 4K Ultra HD/HDR where supported.
Availability is not universal. F1 TV plans and live rights depend on country, account location, and the rights arrangement in effect there. Do not assume that F1 TV Pro is available in every country or that a current subscription automatically includes a replay of this 2025 Sprint. Check the Formula 1 streaming guide and the current F1 TV catalog for your location.

F1 TV supported platforms listed for the 2025 event included Apple TV, Chromecast, Android TV, Google TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku. A Amazon Fire TV Stick can therefore be a practical way to run F1 TV or a broadcaster app on a compatible television, but the device does not include F1 viewing rights, a subscription, or access to ESPNU by itself.

Do you need ESPN+?
Not necessarily—and it would be inaccurate to promise that ESPN+ alone included the 2025 Chinese Sprint. ESPN assigned the Sprint to the ESPNU network feed. Access through the ESPN ecosystem generally depended on an eligible subscription or authenticated provider login, while the ESPN+ service page does not, by itself, confirm the historical rights for this specific event.
If you are evaluating an ESPN-based option for a future F1 event, look for the exact network named in the schedule—ESPNU, ESPN2, or ESPN—and verify whether your service provides that channel. Do not rely only on the word “ESPN” in a package name.

How to watch the completed Sprint now
Spoiler warning: The result is below.
- Open the official 2025 Chinese Grand Prix race hub.
- Look for the Sprint section, including the available report, results, highlights, and lap-by-lap pages.
- If you want a complete video replay, sign in to F1 TV and search its current archive. A full Sprint replay may depend on your country, account entitlement, catalog availability, and later rights changes.
- If no full replay is offered in your account, use the official report, results, highlights, and timing pages rather than unofficial streams or torrent sites.
Formula 1’s official pages definitely retain event information, including the Sprint’s results and reporting, even though video availability can change. The race hub is therefore the safest starting point for a legal current viewing option.

What not to use
- Unofficial “free F1 stream” sites: They may be unlawful, unstable, or carry deceptive downloads and aggressive advertising.
- A VPN as a guaranteed solution: Rights and service terms vary by country, and changing location does not guarantee access to a particular replay or subscription plan.
- ESPN+ without checking the network: The historical assignment was ESPNU, not a blanket promise of ESPN+ access.
- Old 2025 pricing or free-trial claims: Those offers may have expired, and current terms were not established by the historical event research.
