The subscription covers live Grand Prix races, practice, qualifying, Sprint sessions, replays, highlights, and additional F1 programming.
It costs $12.99 per month after a seven-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. You can watch through the Apple TV app on an Apple TV 4K, smart TV, streaming stick, game console, phone, tablet, computer, or web browser.
What you need to watch F1 on Apple TV
For complete F1 coverage in the U.S., you need:
- An Apple Account
- A U.S. Apple TV subscription
- A supported device or a web browser
- An internet connection capable of streaming live video
The subscription includes every Grand Prix, practice session, qualifying session, Sprint, and on-demand replay. Some practice sessions and selected race-weekend content may be available without a subscription, but full access to races, shows, and features requires the paid plan.
You do not need to purchase a separate F1 TV subscription to watch the main broadcast on Apple TV. U.S. Apple TV subscribers also receive F1 TV Premium at no extra charge after linking the Apple Account connected to the subscription.

How much does Apple TV cost for Formula 1?
Apple TV costs $12.99 per month after a seven-day free trial for new subscribers. The F1 coverage is included in that subscription; there is no separate F1 channel fee inside the Apple TV app.
This availability is specific to the United States. Apple TV programming and sports rights vary by country, so an Apple TV subscription from another region may not provide the same F1 coverage.
Supported devices
You can watch F1 through the Apple TV app or at tv.apple.com on the following types of devices:
| Device | Requirement or notes |
|---|---|
| Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD | tvOS 26.2 or later |
| iPhone or iPad | iOS or iPadOS 26.2 or later |
| Mac | macOS Tahoe 26.2 or later |
| Smart TVs | Compatible Samsung, LG, Sony, VIZIO, TCL, and other models |
| Streaming devices | Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Chromecast with Google TV |
| Game consoles | Supported PlayStation and Xbox consoles |
| Mobile devices | Eligible Android phones and tablets |
| Other Apple hardware | Apple Vision Pro |
| Computer | Web browser at tv.apple.com |
Device and regional availability can change. An Apple TV (3rd generation) is an important exception: it has no App Store and cannot install the current Apple TV app, so it is not a practical way to access the present F1 service.

What if you miss the live race?
Open the Formula 1 section in Apple TV and select the completed event. Apple provides full replays and highlights for races and other track sessions, plus interviews, press conferences, and additional shows.
If you want to avoid the result, look for spoiler-free programming such as Race in 30 rather than opening the full event page without checking its title or thumbnail.

Common problems and outdated advice
“I need ESPN or ESPN+ for the 2026 races.”
That advice is outdated for U.S. viewers. Apple identifies Apple TV as the exclusive U.S. home of Formula 1 beginning with the 2026 season.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute“I have to buy F1 TV Premium separately.”
Not if you are a U.S. Apple TV subscriber. Link the Apple Account through f1.com/apple to activate the included F1 TV Premium access.
“Apple TV+ is a separate F1 add-on.”
The current service is branded Apple TV. F1 coverage is included in the U.S. Apple TV subscription, with no separate F1 channel purchase required inside the app.
“Every Apple TV box can install the app.”
Older hardware can be the problem. The Apple TV 3rd generation has no App Store and cannot download new apps. Use a supported Apple TV model, another compatible device, or the browser version at tv.apple.com.
“My subscription works, but F1 is missing.”
First confirm that you are using the Apple Account that paid for the subscription. Then check the account’s country or region. The F1 package described here is U.S.-only, and signing into a different Apple Account on a smart TV is a common cause of missing access.
