The Logitech G29 normally recalibrates itself when you connect it: the wheel turns fully to both sides, then returns to center. Logitech’s support materials do not document a universal button sequence for factory-resetting the entire wheel. If it is miscentered, unrecognized, or responding incorrectly, troubleshoot its connections and platform mode first; software settings and game controls must be reset separately.
What “reset” means on a G29
A G29 calibration sweep is automatic, not a general-purpose button reset. Logitech Support says: “Once connected to your game console or PC, the wheel will rotate fully to each side and then to the center to calibrate.” Keep your hands and objects clear while it moves.
Logitech’s G29 quick-start guide shows L3 + R3 held for three seconds in its PlayStation 3 setup context. That does not establish a universal factory-reset shortcut for every platform or problem, so do not treat it as one.
If the wheel does not power on or perform its sweep
- Check the connections. Make sure the wheel base’s power connection is in place, the pedals are connected to the base, and the wheel is connected to the console or PC by USB. For PlayStation troubleshooting, Logitech recommends trying another wall outlet and USB port, avoiding USB hubs, and checking the cables. See Logitech’s PlayStation power and connection checklist.
- Set the platform switch before reconnecting. Logitech’s platform setup instructions specify PS3 mode for PlayStation 3 and PS4 mode for PlayStation 4 and PC. Select the mode before connecting the wheel.
- Reconnect by USB and observe. With power and pedals connected, connect the wheel to the console or PC. Allow it to turn fully both ways and return to center without obstruction.
For PC, Logitech’s cited setup guidance says Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) 8.70 or later is needed for full functionality. Software availability and compatibility can change; check Logitech’s G29 product page and support downloads for your current system.

If the wheel calibrates but steering or pedals are wrong
A successful sweep does not reset game controls or software configuration. Check the game’s control options and, where applicable, Logitech Gaming Software. Logitech notes that some games may invert pedal controls, so check the game’s pedal mapping if acceleration or braking behaves backward.
In LGS, Logitech documents sensitivity controls for steering and pedals, with a displayed default of 50% for each. The wheel operating range can be set from 40 to 900 degrees; Logitech lists 900 degrees as the default. These are software adjustments, not a hardware factory reset. See Logitech’s sensitivity and range instructions.

If the G29 is recognized on PC but still will not calibrate correctly
Use Logitech’s PC connection troubleshooting guide to check whether G HUB and the Windows controller module recognize the wheel and register its inputs. The guide also covers Registry-based wheel and pedal calibration troubleshooting as an advanced step. Registry changes are not a routine reset; follow Logitech’s current directions carefully or contact support if you are unsure.

Logitech recommends checking for system and game updates, reviewing console and in-game settings, and testing the wheel with another game, console, or computer. If it works elsewhere, the issue may be specific to the original game or setup. If it fails across systems despite correct power, connections, and platform mode, contact Logitech support to assess a possible hardware problem.
