There is no universal Waymo invite code. Whether you need one depends on your city, Waymo’s rollout stage there, and what kind of code you have. In Los Angeles, Waymo officially supports friend-shared invite links and codes. In cities still opening gradually, access is generally controlled through the Waymo app and rolling invitations—not through a public code list. In cities that are already open, you may be able to request a ride without an invite at all.
The safest approach is to check your pickup location in the official Waymo app, create an account, and use a current friend-shared link only when Waymo supports that process in your territory.

People use “Waymo invite code” to describe several different things. They are not interchangeable:

A discount code is not necessarily an invitation to use Waymo in a new market. Likewise, a public referral code cannot override a city restriction or make a service available at a pickup location outside Waymo’s operating territory.
How to get legitimate Waymo access
1. Check whether your city is already open
You may not need an invite. Waymo has opened some markets to everyone after initially using a limited or gradual rollout. San Francisco became available to everyone on June 25, 2024, and Los Angeles did so on November 12, 2024. Waymo later announced that Miami and Orlando would be open to everyone beginning April 15, 2026, and that Nashville would be open to everyone beginning June 25, 2026.
Waymo’s rider information also identifies San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Metro Phoenix as markets where riders can use the Waymo app to request a car. Austin and Atlanta use a different access model, discussed below. These city labels should not be treated as guarantees that every address in a metro area is covered: the pickup point must be inside the current service area.

This is more reliable than an old article, a social-media post, or a code posted by an unknown person.
2. Download the Waymo app and join a gradual rollout
If Waymo is still inviting riders in your city, download the official app, create your account, and complete the requested setup. Waymo has used rolling invitations for select riders in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Orlando. Its early Nashville rollout also instructed prospective riders to download the app and wait to be notified.
This is the correct answer when someone asks for a code in a city where Waymo has not opened unrestricted access. There is no official evidence that repeatedly entering random codes, changing your ZIP code, or creating duplicate accounts improves your chances. Those actions may instead create account or eligibility problems.

3. Ask an existing rider for a current friend-shared link
Los Angeles is the clearest officially documented example of this option. A current rider may be able to share a Waymo invite link or code, subject to the availability and terms shown in that rider’s app. The number of codes the rider can share is shown in the app, and the code applies only within Los Angeles territory according to Waymo’s help information.
Some localized Waymo help material also describes a referral feature in which a new rider may receive an incentive after starting to ride and the referring rider may receive a reward after the friend completes a first trip. Referral availability, limits, eligibility requirements, and incentives can change by region and over time. Do not assume that quantities or rewards described in a non-U.S. help page apply to U.S. riders.
Best practice: ask your friend to send the current link directly from the Waymo app rather than copying an old code from a forum. Confirm the city and the offer terms before depending on it.
4. Check Uber in Austin or Atlanta
In Austin and Atlanta, Waymo says riders experience Waymo rides through Uber rather than through the standard Waymo ride-request flow. If you are in one of those markets, open Uber and check whether a Waymo option appears for your pickup location.
This is not a Waymo invite-code workaround. It is a separate access path, and availability can depend on the location, app, and current rollout. A Waymo code found online will not necessarily activate Waymo rides in Uber.

- Open the Waymo app and sign in to the account that will take the ride.
- If you received a friend’s link, tap the link and follow the prompts.
- For manual entry, open Account.
- Select Offers and promotions.
- Tap Redeem Code.
- Enter the code exactly as provided and submit it.
App labels can change between versions. If you do not see the exact menu path, look under the account area for Offers, Promotions, or a wallet-related section. Do not give your Waymo password, payment details, verification code, or account recovery information to someone who claims they can activate an invite.
Why a Waymo invite code may not work
A failed code does not necessarily mean you entered it incorrectly. Common causes include:
- Wrong territory: the code is limited to Los Angeles or another specified market, but your pickup location is elsewhere.
- Expired offer: the code had a limited validity period.
- Redemption limit reached: the sender’s available shares or the promotion’s total uses have been exhausted.
- Wrong account: the offer may be intended for a new rider, a selected rider, or a particular account.
- Wrong type of code: it may be a fare promotion rather than permission to access a newly launched market.
- Service-area restriction: your pickup location may be outside the operating territory even if it is near the city.
- Changed terms: the offer may have been replaced or withdrawn by Waymo.
Check the code’s city, expiration date, eligibility conditions, and remaining uses. If those appear correct, verify that your pickup location is inside the current service area and contact Waymo through its official support channel rather than trying dozens of codes.

Reddit, coupon sites, social-media posts, and online comment threads can explain why you see Waymo codes circulating, but they are not authoritative inventories of working codes. A code posted publicly may be expired, single-use, territory-restricted, tied to the original recipient, or missing important conditions.
Never pay someone for a supposed Waymo invite code. A seller cannot legitimately guarantee that a code will unlock a city, and sharing account credentials creates a separate security risk. Use the app, an invitation sent by a known rider, or Waymo’s own current service information.

Waymo describes Premier as costing $29.99 per month and including priority pickups, early access to new cities, 10% Waymo Cash back on trips, and up to five free cancellations each month. The membership is offered only to a select group of riders. If you are eligible, Waymo says the invitation appears inside the app, in the My Trip or Account tabs.

There is no reason to search public referral lists for a Premier invitation. Check the relevant section of your own app instead, and review the current membership terms before subscribing.
The fastest decision path
- Check the pickup location. Confirm that Waymo currently operates there; being in the same metro area is not enough.
- Try the official Waymo app. Create an account and see whether you can request a ride immediately.
- If access is rolling out, wait for Waymo. Watch for an email or in-app notification rather than searching for a universal code.
- If you are in Los Angeles, ask a current rider. Have them send a current shareable link or code, then redeem it under Account > Offers and promotions > Redeem Code.
- If you are in Austin or Atlanta, check Uber. Waymo rides in those markets may be presented through Uber.
- If a code fails, diagnose it. Check territory, expiration, usage limits, account eligibility, and whether it is a promotion instead of an access invite.
Bottom line for each major market
- Los Angeles: a current friend-shared Waymo invite link or code may be available, but it is territory-specific and subject to the app’s limits.
- San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Metro Phoenix: Waymo’s rider information says riders can download the app and request a car, subject to the current service area.
- Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Orlando, or Nashville during a gradual rollout: download the app and wait for an official notification if access is still being released in stages.
- Miami, Orlando, and Nashville after their announced open-access dates: an invite may no longer be necessary, but verify availability at the actual pickup location.
- Austin and Atlanta: check Uber for Waymo availability instead of looking for a standard Waymo app invite.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there one Waymo invite code that works everywhere?
No. Waymo access and referral codes can be restricted by city, rollout phase, account eligibility, expiration, and usage limit. A code that works in Los Angeles should not be expected to work in another market.
Can I get a Waymo invite code from Reddit or a coupon website?
