The game assigns cars different handling profiles, and parts can change those profiles; the useful choice depends on whether you are entering a race, road, off-road, or drift event. This guide explains how to choose and build for those roles without pretending that an untested list of 22 cars is a universal ranking.
Why one “best car” list can mislead
In its PC manual, Electronic Arts says a car’s Performance Rating is determined by its base model and installed parts. The scale runs from 100 to 400+, and increasing the rating unlocks races and tougher opponents. That number is useful for progression, but it does not by itself tell you whether a car suits a particular event.

EA also identifies Race, Road, Offroad, and Drift handling categories, and advises checking a car’s Handling Profile before an event because some cars are better suited to particular event types. Tires, suspension, and differential can modify the profile. In other words, compare a car in the role and configuration you intend to use—not by rating alone. EA’s Need for Speed Heat PC manual describes these systems.
Choose a car by the event you want to run
Race events
Start with a car whose Handling Profile and installed parts suit Race events. Check the profile before launching, then consider whether your current rating is high enough for the event and the opponents you expect to face. A high-rated build may help meet progression demands, but the rating is not proof that the car will be easy to control or ideal for every course.

Road events
For Road events, use the same check: match the car’s profile to the event and inspect the handling parts you have installed. If you are adapting a build used elsewhere, remember that tires, suspension, and differential can change its profile. Treat the resulting setup as a road-focused configuration, not as evidence that the unmodified car is automatically suited to every event.
Off-road events
Choose and configure a car for the Offroad profile before entering an off-road event. A rating that works well in another event type does not establish off-road suitability. If you have altered tires, suspension, or differential for a different purpose, check the resulting Handling Profile rather than assuming the setup still fits.

- Assetto Corsa Competizione allows you to feel the real atmosphere of the GT3 championship
- Compete against official drivers, teams, cars circuits reproduced in game with the highest level of accuracy ever achieved on console
- Sprint, Endurance, and Spa 24 Hours races come to life with an incredible level of realism, in both single and multiplayer modes
Drift events
For Drift events, look for the Drift handling category and verify the profile after fitting parts. Since parts can modify handling, the car’s base identity alone is not enough to describe how a particular build will behave. The manual does not provide a universal winning drift setup or a comparative ranking of drift cars.
Build around the event, not just the rating
Use this sequence when preparing a car:
- Identify the event type. Decide whether you are entering Race, Road, Offroad, or Drift.
- Check the Handling Profile. Confirm that the current build is configured for the event you selected.
- Review relevant parts. Tires, suspension, and differential can modify handling, so reassess the profile after changing them.
- Check Performance Rating and access. The base model and parts determine the rating; raising it can open new races and help you face more difficult opponents.
- Keep separate event builds where practical. EA says players ideally maintain several event-specific builds. That is more reliable than expecting one setup to cover every handling category.
Use day and night for different goals
Daytime events award Bank, which you can use for cars, parts, and customization. At night, REP and HEAT create a separate risk-and-reward loop. Returning to a garage banks the night’s REP; getting busted resets the HEAT multiplier and costs Bank. Plan a night around how much risk you are willing to take rather than treating it as interchangeable with daytime progression.

What a trustworthy 22-car ranking would need
A meaningful list of 22 cars would need to compare named vehicles under defined conditions: event type, platform, installed parts, performance rating, and the handling setup used. The available official materials explain the rating and handling systems, but do not establish a comparative ranking of 22 models or verified optimal builds. Naming winners or assigning exact progression access without that support would make the list look more certain than the evidence allows.
Instead, use the game’s profile and rating information to assess the cars you have unlocked. For each candidate, record the event it is intended for, its current profile, rating, parts, and how controllable it feels on the event you plan to run. That gives you a useful garage plan without confusing a high rating with universal superiority.

Platforms and current availability
EA’s 2019 launch announcement listed PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Origin for PC. That launch information does not establish present-day storefront inventory or availability in every region. Check EA’s current Need for Speed Heat page and the store for your region and platform before purchasing. A listed platform at launch is not, by itself, confirmation of current stock or compatibility for a particular edition.
