United Kingdom: July 2025 guide
Mazda Motors UK’s July 2025 specification guide lists Arctic White at no extra charge. It lists Aero Grey, Deep Crystal Blue and Jet Black at £600 RRP each; Machine Grey at £700; and Soul Red Crystal at £850. These are UK prices in that guide, not prices for another market or model year.
The same UK guide says Jet Black is unavailable on the MX-5 RF 184ps Homura grades identified in the document. That restriction is specific to those grades in the guide; it should not be generalized to every RF or every market.

The US premium-color charges and UK option prices should not be compared as if they were a common price list: they refer to different markets and documents, and the US list identifies premium colors rather than the complete trim-specific palette. Ask the seller for the order sheet applicable to your car.
Use the figures as a way to understand the decision, not as a promise about a quote. For example, a buyer in the United States can use the 2026 release to see that the four named premium colors carry the same listed surcharge, while a buyer using Mazda Motors UK’s July 2025 guide sees different charges among the listed finishes. Neither document says what a dealer has in stock today, and neither tells a buyer in another country what a color costs there. Confirm the current price, availability and configuration on the paperwork for the specific car.
Build a shortlist that can actually be ordered
Before you start comparing photos or asking which color looks best, write down the car you are considering: model year, country of sale, roadster or RF body style, and trim or grade. Ask for the corresponding current color list. If a color appears in an older brochure, an enthusiast gallery or a listing for another country, treat it as a lead to verify, not proof that it is available on your intended car.
That step prevents two common disappointments: falling for a finish that is not offered on the chosen grade, and budgeting around a surcharge from a different market. Keep the comparison fair. A photo of one car taken in bright sun and another taken under cloud or indoors is not a reliable color-to-color test. Nor should you use a phone or monitor as the final judge: display settings and the conditions of the image can change what you see. Use images to narrow the shortlist, then confirm the finalists in person if possible.
Make notes while viewing each candidate. Record whether you liked it in sun and shade, whether the roof and interior combination worked for you, and its confirmed price and availability. This is not a scorecard that identifies a universal winner; it helps you remember your own impressions instead of letting an appealing name or a single photograph make the choice for you.
Why a screen or brochure is not the final test

A name such as Soul Red Crystal or Machine Grey helps identify a marketed color, but it is not by itself proof that a paint can or repair formula matches a particular car. Names and palettes span multiple MX-5 generations, years and markets. The roof is part of the car’s visible color combination, not a separate detail to ignore until delivery. Compare the exterior with the actual soft-top or RF configuration you plan to order, and consider the interior and trim at the same time. If the car you see has a different roof or cabin combination, treat it as a useful view of the paint, not a complete preview of your own specification.

Find the paint code before ordering repair paint
