Land Rover’s Approved Defender program states that enrolled vehicles receive a 165-point inspection, verified ownership, mileage, and service history, and a 24-month Approved warranty. These are program specifications, not proof that any pre-owned Defender advert—or the seller behind it—is part of the program.
- Ask whether the exact vehicle is enrolled in the Approved Defender program, rather than relying on a general claim that it is “approved.”
- Request the vehicle-specific inspection, ownership, mileage, and service-history records, and check that they correspond to the vehicle being offered.
- Ask for written confirmation of the warranty applicable to that vehicle and verify the program status with Land Rover India or a retailer it confirms.
If the seller cannot establish the vehicle’s specific program status, treat the program benefits as unconfirmed. They should not be assumed to apply just because an advert uses the word “approved.”
