To calculate an Ertiga’s initial on-road cost, add the invoice-date ex-showroom price for the exact variant to your local road tax and registration charges, insurance, and any optional items you choose. Ask for each amount on a written quote for your registration location; there is no single on-road figure that applies to every buyer.
Use this formula for the initial on-road total
Initial on-road total = invoice-date ex-showroom price + local road tax/RTO and registration or statutory charges + insurance premium + chosen optional products + other itemized dealer charges.
This is the upfront purchase total, not necessarily the total you will pay over time if you finance the car. Keep loan costs and future running costs separate so the figures remain comparable.
Calculate it for your Ertiga, step by step
- Choose the exact variant and powertrain. Specify the trim and whether you want a manual, automatic, or CNG model. Do not combine an ex-showroom price for one configuration with charges quoted for another.
- Get the price applicable on the expected invoice date. Maruti Suzuki’s official Ertiga price page is a starting point, but the displayed figure is not a guaranteed future price. Maruti states: “Price and Schemes prevailing at the time of Invoice/Bill shall be applicable.” Recheck the price and ask the dealer to confirm any scheme in writing near purchase.
- Use your registration location for tax and registration charges. Ask for road tax/RTO, registration, and statutory amounts as separate lines. Charge names and amounts depend on the jurisdiction; do not assume a quote for another city applies to you.
- Add an insurance quote you can evaluate. Compare policy coverage and included add-ons as well as the premium. The figures available here do not establish a universal Ertiga insurance premium or recommend a particular insurer.
- Include only optional products you want. Ask the dealer to itemize accessories, extended warranty, service packages, FASTag, or any other additions. Maruti’s Customer Convenience Package schedule is model-specific; check the exact package, variant eligibility, duration, and current price before deciding. An optional item should not be hidden inside a compulsory statutory charge.
- Check the quote and add the lines. Confirm the variant, registration location, quote date, discounts or schemes, and each charge. Sum the items you have accepted to get the initial on-road total.
- Calculate financing separately, if applicable. Use your lender’s actual offer to add the down payment, interest over the loan term, processing fee, and other lender charges. Those amounts are not part of a universal on-road figure.
What published figures can—and cannot—tell you
Maruti Suzuki’s official price page has surfaced GST-revised ex-showroom figures, including ₹8,80,000 for an Ertiga Smart Hybrid manual starting configuration, ₹12,94,100 for the Smart Hybrid automatic ZXi Plus, and ₹10,76,300 for the VXi CNG. These are starting reference points from the official page, not guaranteed invoice prices for a later date or a specific city. Confirm the exact variant and price when you request a quote.

A September 2026 New Delhi estimate lists an Lxi (O) at ₹8.80 lakh ex-showroom, with ₹37.60 thousand for insurance, ₹61.60 thousand for RTO, and ₹6.30 thousand in statutory fees, producing a stated on-road estimate of ₹9.86 lakh. Those are that estimate’s Delhi-specific figures and assumptions, not a national price or a substitute for your own quote. The estimate is published by Team-BHP.
A dealer price sheet effective 1 February 2025 also lists separate lines for insurance, road tax, registration, FASTag, accessories, and extended warranty. It can help show how a quote may be structured, but it is dated and dealer-specific; request current amounts for your purchase.

Compare dealer offers on the same basis
Before comparing totals, make sure both offers are for the same Ertiga variant and powertrain, the same registration location, and the same expected invoice date. Then check the line items:
- Ex-showroom price and discounts: confirm which invoice-date price and schemes apply.
- Tax, RTO, registration, and statutory fees: compare corresponding local charges and ask the dealer to explain any unclear line.
- Insurance: compare coverage and add-ons along with premium, rather than treating the cheapest premium as automatically equivalent.
- Optional products: identify accessories, warranty, and service packages separately; include them only if you choose them.
- Financing: compare lender-specific interest and fees in a separate financed-cost calculation.
Keep the upfront price distinct from ownership costs
The on-road calculation answers what the selected car and purchase-time charges add up to. It does not by itself give the total paid under a loan or the cost of operating the vehicle after purchase. For a financed purchase, use the lender’s repayment schedule and fees; for a broader ownership budget, separately estimate recurring expenses using figures relevant to your driving and location.
