Use the licensing authority for the province or territory that issued your licence: Pakistan does not have one nationwide online application or renewal portal. Punjab uses DLIMS through Dastak, Sindh offers online slot booking and verification but describes in-person processing, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa lists online renewal. For Islamabad, follow Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) guidance. Before submitting or paying, check the authority’s live requirements for your licence class and case.
Choose the portal for your licence’s issuing jurisdiction
If you already hold a licence, begin with the authority that issued it. For a first application, use the authority responsible for your jurisdiction. Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs identifies ITP for Islamabad-issued licences and Punjab DLIMS for Punjab-issued licences, and directs applicants from other provinces to their relevant licensing authority: Ministry of Foreign Affairs driving-licence guidance.

How to apply or renew online
- Open the issuing authority’s official service. Punjab applicants should start at DLIMS, which says its service is consolidated through Dastak. KP applicants can use the Transport Department’s online-services portal. Sindh applicants can use DLS Online for the services it offers, including slot reservation.
- Create an account or sign in. Punjab and KP describe account-based processes. In KP, the portal instructions include account creation using a CNIC and mobile number, followed by identity verification.
- Select the exact service and enter the requested details. Choose the relevant licence class and whether the request is a first application, renewal or another service. Do not assume that a learner permit and a permanent licence share the same requirements.
- Upload only the documents requested for that service. Punjab’s learner-licence FAQ calls for a face picture and front and back images of the original CNIC; it specifies a medical certificate from a government doctor if the applicant is over 50. These are learner-service instructions, not a universal checklist for all Punjab renewals.
- Review the amount and payment reference before paying. Punjab’s process generates a PSID for payment. Check the amount against the live schedule and make sure the service and licence category are correct before completing payment.
- Check whether you still need to attend an office or take a test. An online form, appointment or verification service does not necessarily complete the whole licensing process remotely. Sindh’s described computerized process includes physical branch attendance and testing; requirements can also depend on service and licence class elsewhere.
- Save the reference and monitor status. Punjab describes application tracking through the dashboard and card tracking; KP lists application-status tracking. Keep the application details and payment confirmation until the authority completes the case.
Documents depend on the authority and service
There is no single national document list in the services described here. The document requirements shown for one task should not be treated as the requirements for a different licence class, renewal or jurisdiction.
- Punjab learner licence: the DLIMS FAQ lists a face picture and images of both sides of the original CNIC. Applicants over 50 are asked for a medical certificate signed by a government doctor. The page also says the learner’s digital copy is available in the account after application and payment. See Punjab DLIMS.
- KP driving-licence services: the general online-services page lists CNIC, an existing licence for renewal, a medical fitness certificate and two passport photographs under driving-licence services. Because that page may cover more than one case, confirm the exact list shown for the selected service at KP online services.
- Sindh: use DLS Online’s instructions for the chosen service and branch. The service description includes in-person medical and testing steps, so an online booking alone should not be mistaken for a completed licence transaction.
Fees and processing time
Fees can depend on jurisdiction, licence category, renewal status and lateness. Use the authority’s live fee page or the amount generated in its official application flow; do not transfer a Punjab amount to another province.

Quick Recap
Rank #2
#1 Best Overall
- Punjab: DLIMS lists an online learner-licence charge of 500 PKR for each category (for example, bike or car). Verify that amount on the live DLIMS service page before applying. Renewal charges and other fees vary by category and renewal situation; consult the Punjab fee structure for the applicable schedule, including any late fine or courier charge.
- Sindh: the published Sindh fee table distinguishes renewal within 30 days and after 30 days, as well as category and term. Its amounts may be outdated, so verify the current charge with the licensing authority before paying.
- KP: the Transport Department’s online-services page states a renewal interval of 3–5 working days. This is the portal’s stated interval, not a guaranteed completion time; check the status service for your application.
- Islamabad: no current detailed fee schedule is established here. Check ITP’s official guidance rather than estimating from Punjab rates.
What to check before submitting
- Confirm that the site belongs to the relevant government or police licensing authority. Avoid lookalike portals and do not enter CNIC or payment information on an unverified site.
- Check the licence category, renewal timing and any late-renewal rule against the live fee schedule.
- Read whether the selected service requires an appointment, medical examination, test, original-document check or branch visit.
- Keep your application number, PSID or other payment reference and receipt so you can use the authority’s status or enquiry service.
