Easy Caravanning’s TakeOff gained a semi-fixed-bed layout in 2022 that addresses a practical pop-up-camper trade-off: the bed no longer has to disappear completely for daytime use. Part of the sleeping space can remain set up while the rest of the interior serves as a small dinette. The arrangement adds flexibility, but the bed still needs a nighttime conversion, and the new layout’s weight was not published in the launch report.
What changes in the semi-fixed-bed layout?
The original TakeOff uses a front-facing lounge and dining area that converts into a bed. In the semi-fixed arrangement described by New Atlas in January 2022, the front section stays configured as a bed while a smaller lower area converts into a dinette. That leaves one person able to rest on the bed while another sits at the table.
At night, the table is moved and cushions are added to make the full sleeping surface. New Atlas reports the assembled bed at 63 × 81 inches (160 × 205 cm). It also describes an option to leave out a center cushion, creating two single-bed-style spaces and easier access to the storage area intended for an optional portable toilet.

The manufacturer’s 2022 manual documents several seating, table and bed configurations, but does not independently confirm every detail of the semi-fixed arrangement described in the news report.

What the 30-second setup claim does—and does not—mean
New Atlas characterized the TakeOff as setting up in 30 seconds in its 2022 report. That is a reported setup claim, not a published independent comparative test of the original and semi-fixed floor plans. The added bed flexibility concerns how the interior is arranged once the trailer is open; it does not establish that one layout sets up faster than the other.
Size, weight and towing checks
New Atlas reported a length of 16.1 feet (4.9 m) and maximum headroom of 6.7 feet for the TakeOff in 2022. It said earlier versions weighed 1,300 lb (590 kg) or less, while noting that Easy Caravanning had not published an updated weight for the semi-fixed floor plan. That older figure should not be treated as the verified weight of the newer layout.

Easy Caravanning’s current TakeOff range page lists a 750 kg maximum permitted mass. This is a permitted maximum, not the trailer’s unladen weight. Before towing, check the specific unit’s data plate and actual loaded mass against the tow vehicle’s limits, including any applicable tongue-load limits. A design intended for smaller or electric vehicles does not establish compatibility with a particular vehicle, and the cited materials do not quantify an electric vehicle’s range change while towing.
Equipment, options and current prices
The 2022 New Atlas report describes the TakeOff as usable on its own, with an entryway awning, or with a full auxiliary tent. It also identifies the Infinity as a solar-lid option in that lineup and describes the semi-fixed layout’s indoor/outdoor kitchen concept, including a cool-box console and two-burner cooktop box. These are launch-era descriptions; they do not establish that every option remains available today or is standard on every trim.

The manufacturer’s trim listings include differing equipment, with items such as a portable kitchen, two-burner cooktop and portable toilet specified on particular versions. Check the chosen trim’s current equipment list rather than assuming these items are included across the range. The portable-toilet storage described for the semi-fixed layout is useful context, but no particular toilet model’s fit is established here.

What the 2022 launch price tells you
For historical context only, New Atlas reported a 2022 base-price range of €15,595–€20,795 and a €495 surcharge for the semi-fixed layout at launch. Those are not current prices. The report expected dealer availability in spring 2022, which is likewise a historical forecast rather than current availability information.

The semi-fixed plan is most relevant to campers who value having some bed space ready during the day but still want a separate place to sit at a table. The original lounge arrangement keeps the daytime area centered on a convertible seating space; the semi-fixed version divides the interior between a partially retained bed and a smaller dinette. Neither description establishes a quantified comfort advantage or a measured time saving, so the choice rests on which arrangement better suits the way occupants use the compact interior.
