A 2006 Pontiac GTO with the 6.0-liter LS2 V8 is rated at 400 horsepower. Pontiac also lists 400 lb-ft of torque. Published references agree on the peak amounts but differ on the engine speeds associated with them.
What is the 2006 GTO 6.0’s factory-rated output?
Pontiac rated the 2006 GTO’s 6.0L Gen IV all-aluminum LS2 V8 at 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. The manufacturer’s specifications printout, dated April 15, 2005, identifies the engine and gives both output figures for the 2006 model. Pontiac specifications brochure
Why do sources show different rpm figures?
The peak horsepower and torque amounts are consistent across the references, but the stated engine speeds are not. Pontiac’s 2006 select-specifications brochure lists 400 hp at 6,000 rpm and 400 lb-ft at 4,400 rpm. 2006 GTO select specifications

A separate 2006 Pontiac brochure also describes the LS2 as producing 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft, without resolving the rpm discrepancy. 2006 Pontiac GTO brochure
What number should you use?
For a straightforward answer, use 400 hp and, if torque is relevant, 400 lb-ft. Avoid attaching an rpm unless you identify the specific source: the peak amounts are supported, but the published rpm figures disagree.
