A Toyota Highlander Hybrid high-voltage battery replacement is estimated at $7,558–$7,752 in RepairPal’s general estimate, updated September 3, 2026. That is not a guaranteed or universal installed price: the estimate excludes taxes and fees and does not account for location. Your model year, battery type, installation and related repairs can change the total.
What does the Highlander Hybrid battery replacement estimate include?
RepairPal’s estimate for a Toyota Highlander Hybrid is made up of $7,142 in estimated parts and $416–$610 in estimated labor. RepairPal says the overall estimate excludes taxes and fees, does not account for your location, and may not include related repairs that prove necessary. It is an estimate, not a Toyota dealer quote or an out-the-door price. RepairPal’s estimate page was updated September 3, 2026.
The phrase “battery replacement” here means the high-voltage hybrid traction battery, not the separate 12-volt auxiliary battery. Confirm which battery a shop has diagnosed before comparing prices.
How does the cost vary by model year and battery option?
| Estimate or listing | Amount | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| RepairPal, Toyota Highlander Hybrid general estimate | $7,558–$7,752 | Estimate updated September 3, 2026; excludes taxes and fees and does not account for location. Not a guaranteed installed quote. Source |
| RepairPal, 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid | $6,564–$6,735 | Model-year estimate; excludes taxes and fees. Not a guaranteed installed quote. Source |
| Greentec Auto, remanufactured pack listing | $1,999 | Listed on its current Highlander category page for certain older generations. The listing does not establish a universal installed total; confirm fitment, installation and warranty. Source |
These figures are not directly comparable: RepairPal’s figures are repair estimates, while the $1,999 Greentec Auto figure is a listed remanufactured pack price whose installation scope must be confirmed. The specialist page lists options for some older Highlander Hybrid generations, including 2006–2009 and 2010–2016 vehicles; availability and fitment should be checked for the specific vehicle.

Could Toyota’s hybrid battery warranty cover the repair?
Check warranty eligibility before authorizing a paid replacement. Toyota says that for its hybrid vehicles beginning with model year 2020, the high-voltage hybrid battery is covered for 10 years from the original date of first use or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first, subject to the applicable New Vehicle Limited Warranty terms. Toyota’s hybrid vehicle warranty guidance explains the coverage.
Toyota’s 2025 Highlander Hybrid Warranty and Maintenance Guide states that the hybrid battery warranty runs for 10 years or 150,000 miles from the vehicle’s in-service date, whichever occurs first. It separately lists 8 years or 100,000 miles for specified hybrid-related components, including the battery control module, hybrid control module, and inverter with converter. Consult the guide for the vehicle’s exact model year and applicable emissions coverage.

Replacement-part coverage is separate from the vehicle’s original warranty. Toyota Genuine Parts lists 36 months of coverage regardless of mileage for a Toyota Genuine high-voltage battery installed by an authorized Toyota dealer, or the remainder of an applicable new-vehicle warranty, whichever provides greater coverage. A battery not installed by an authorized Toyota dealer receives the 12-month Toyota Service Parts Limited Warranty. Confirm part fitment and the applicable terms directly when getting a quote. What should a written replacement quote specify?
Ask each Toyota dealer or independent hybrid specialist for a written estimate tied to your VIN and location. A lower parts figure is not enough to compare offers; verify what work and protections the price actually covers.
