There is no published, authoritative annual maintenance price specifically for the Nissan GT-R NISMO. For a rough U.S. reference, RepairPal estimates maintenance for the GT-R generally at $920 per year, while CarEdge estimates $9,230 in maintenance and repairs over the first 10 years. Neither figure isolates the NISMO trim or guarantees what a particular car will cost. Your actual bill depends on the model year, mileage, service history, driving conditions, tires, wear, location and labor rates. A VIN-based, itemized quote is the reliable way to budget for a specific NISMO.

What the published cost estimates do—and do not—tell you

The two available online estimates offer a starting point, not a NISMO service plan. RepairPal’s estimate is annual; CarEdge’s is a 10-year total. Their published figures do not establish exactly which services or repairs are included, and neither is specific to NISMO. They should not be treated as directly comparable measures of the same work.

Estimate Amount Scope and qualification
RepairPal, accessed 2026 $920 per year Estimate for the Nissan GT-R generally; not NISMO-specific. The retrieved page does not state a publication year.
CarEdge, accessed 2026 $9,230 over the first 10 years Estimate for GT-R maintenance and repairs generally; not NISMO-specific. The retrieved page does not state a publication year.
RepairPal oil-change estimate, accessed 2026 $136–$166 GT-R generally; not a NISMO-specific quote.

These figures are useful only as broad context. A yearly average can conceal larger bills in years when several scheduled services or wear items come due. The CarEdge figure also combines maintenance and repairs over a decade, while the RepairPal annual figure is presented as maintenance. Neither tells you whether a particular used car is due for fluids, needs tires or brakes, or has deferred work.

Keep maintenance separate from the car’s purchase price, financing, insurance, fuel, taxes and depreciation. Those expenses may matter to total ownership cost, but they are not the same as servicing the vehicle.

Why a GT-R NISMO does not have one annual bill

Nissan provides maintenance intervals and service items, not a total labor-and-parts price. Bills vary with the vehicle’s model year and odometer reading, which schedule applies, how it has been driven, what work is already documented, and the prices charged by the chosen shop. A car used on track or one with incomplete records also cannot be budgeted reliably from a general average alone.

There is an additional timing issue: Nissan’s 2024 U.S.-market schedule calls for Schedule 1 or Schedule 2 maintenance every 6,000 miles or six months, whichever comes first. That does not mean every visit costs the same amount. The items due at one interval may differ from the work due later, and a service estimate should be assessed against the car’s actual schedule and history—not simply divided into a monthly or annual allowance.

What Nissan’s maintenance schedule covers

Choose the schedule for the car’s use

For the 2024 U.S.-market GT-R, Nissan distinguishes between two schedules. Schedule 1 applies to more demanding conditions, including repeated short trips, stop-and-go traffic in hot weather, prolonged low-speed driving, and dusty, rough, muddy or salt-spread roads. Schedule 2 has fewer regularly checked or replaced items and generally applies to highway use in temperate conditions.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do not assume Schedule 2 applies just because the car is driven on public roads. Compare the vehicle’s actual use with Nissan’s conditions, and check the owner’s manual and Nissan’s schedule lookup for the exact model year and configuration. The online lookup offers a NISMO trim selection; the full schedule depends on configuration, mileage and driving conditions. The 2024 interval should not automatically be applied to an older car.

Expect a mix of fluids, filters and inspections

The listed components include engine oil and filter, brake fluid and brake hardware, front and rear differential oil, dual-clutch transmission oil, engine air filters, coolant, spark plugs, steering and suspension checks, and transmission settings. Nissan’s manual describes its listed services as minimum recommended requirements through 96,000 miles or 96 months. Later intervals add inspection and replacement items.

At 36,000 miles or 36 months, the manual’s schedule includes replacement of the transmission fluid and front and rear differential fluids. The service is easy to overlook when comparing a routine oil-change bill with a general annual estimate, but it is a distinct scheduled job. Confirm whether the work has already been completed before budgeting to do it again.

Routine oil service is only one line item

Nissan specifies engine oil and filter service at the applicable schedule interval and says to check the oil level every 1,800 miles. The manual identifies Mobil 1 0W-40 or an equivalent as its engine oil recommendation. RepairPal’s $136–$166 oil-change estimate is for the GT-R generally, not an NISMO-specific quote, and does not represent the cost of all scheduled maintenance.

Which expenses can make the bill jump?

Transmission and differential fluids

The 36,000-mile service is a particularly important budgeting checkpoint because it includes transmission and both differential fluids. One U.S. owner of a 2020 GT-R wrote in 2023 that they expected to pay $3,500–$4,000 for that work. That was the owner’s expectation at the time—not an official price, a verified average, or a current NISMO quote. Ask a local GT-R-qualified shop to itemize the work and confirm exactly which fluids and services are included.

Tires and the limits on rotation

The GT-R uses specially designed run-flat tires, and the front and rear tires are different sizes. Nissan states in its 2024 GT-R Owner Manual and Maintenance Information: “Tire rotation: Tires cannot be rotated as front tires are different size from rear tires.” The manual recommends replacing all four tires together. It also recommends a GT-R-certified dealer for replacement because the tires have rigid sidewalls and require special techniques and equipment.

The same 2020 GT-R owner reported paying $1,600–$1,900 for summer tires, plus about $200 for installation, in 2023. This is dated personal experience, not a current market price or NISMO-specific tire quote. Tire make, size, availability, location and installation provider can affect a present-day estimate. Because front-to-rear rotation is not possible, inspect tire condition rather than assuming rotation will extend the set’s life.

Brakes and performance driving

Nissan lists brake fluid and brake hardware among the maintenance items; pads and rotors are inspected and replaced as needed. The warranty booklet treats worn brake components as normal maintenance expenses rather than warranty maintenance. There is no fixed brake replacement interval or price established here: wear depends on the individual car and its use, so a specific estimate requires inspection.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Track or other high-performance use can change wear and inspection needs. For NISMO models, Nissan’s 2024 manual says to have toe-in checked and adjusted by a GT-R-certified dealer before performance driving on closed-circuit tracks. Include that check when it applies to the car’s intended use, and ask the service provider to distinguish it from routine scheduled work.

What owner-reported bills can tell you

A U.S. owner writing in 2023 about a 2020 GT-R reported approximately $1,100 for two- and four-year maintenance, including oil, coolant, brake-fluid service and air filters. The owner attributed about $900 of that amount to dealer labor. This is a single person’s account, not a published statistic, a price survey or a NISMO average. It also describes particular maintenance visits, not a guaranteed annual spend.

The account is useful as an example of why the bill depends on what is due and how labor is priced. It should not be combined with the owner’s separate tire and 36,000-mile service figures to create a projected annual total: they refer to different work and do not establish a typical schedule, current local prices or what a particular NISMO needs.

Does the warranty cover maintenance?

No maintenance budget should assume that routine service is included in the warranty. Nissan’s 2024 warranty booklet identifies normal maintenance—including filters, lubricants, tire-pressure maintenance, coolant and worn brake parts—as expenses that are not covered as warranty maintenance. The booklet states a basic warranty term of three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For a used car, verify the original in-service date and the vehicle’s actual warranty status. Do not infer coverage from the model year alone, and do not treat an active warranty as a prepaid service plan.

How to get a realistic estimate for a specific NISMO

Ask a GT-R-certified dealer or qualified GT-R specialist for a written estimate based on the car, not a generic model average. Give the shop the VIN, model year, odometer reading, location, maintenance records and whether the car has been driven on track. Share tire condition and any known service history so the quote can distinguish what is due from what may need attention.

  1. Gather the records. Collect service invoices and the current odometer reading. For a used car, compare documented work with the Nissan schedule for that model year; Nissan says properly documented service records can enhance the vehicle’s value.
  2. Identify the applicable schedule. Describe the car’s driving conditions and ask the shop to determine whether Schedule 1 or Schedule 2 applies. Confirm the exact interval and configuration against the model-year manual or Nissan schedule lookup.
  3. Request an itemized estimate. Have the shop separate scheduled maintenance, overdue work, wear items and inspection findings. Ask it to specify whether a quoted fluid service includes the transmission and both differentials, and whether the estimate includes parts, labor and any recommended checks.
  4. Review tires and brakes separately. Ask for an inspection-based assessment rather than assuming a fixed replacement interval. For tires, confirm the correct set and suitable installation equipment; for brakes, ask which components need attention and why.
  5. Compare like with like. If you obtain another estimate, match the model year, scheduled items, included fluids and filters, labor assumptions and service provider. A number that excludes a due service is not a cheaper quote for the same work.

How to interpret a quote or a used-car maintenance claim

Before deciding whether an estimate is reasonable, establish what period and work it covers. A routine visit, a 36,000-mile fluid service, a tire replacement and a brake inspection are not interchangeable. A statement such as “it costs about $X a year” is incomplete unless it identifies the model year and trim, mileage or time window, driving conditions, included work, location and whether repairs or wear items are counted.

  • For an annual estimate: ask whether it is for the GT-R generally or NISMO specifically, and what services and repairs are included.
  • For a service quote: compare the exact scheduled items, parts, labor and inspection work—not just the total.
  • For a used car: look for invoices that document time- and mileage-based services, especially fluid work due at major intervals. A verbal assurance is less useful than records tied to the vehicle.
  • For a car with track use: disclose that use and request an inspection plan appropriate to the vehicle’s condition and intended driving.

The practical answer is that the broad GT-R estimates can orient a budget, but they cannot tell you what a particular NISMO will cost to maintain. The schedule and the car’s documented condition determine the work; a written, itemized local quote determines the likely bill.
