The Koenigsegg Chimera combines an Agera RS base, a Jesko-derived V8 and transmission technology from the CC850. Commissioned as a one-off by Mohammed Ben Sulayem, it is a customized Agera RS—not a fourth production model or three complete cars fused together.
Which three Koenigseggs make up the Chimera?
Each donor model contributes a different part of the recipe. Top Gear reported the project on July 8, 2024, describing the Chimera as a one-off built around an existing Agera RS.

That makes “three hypercars into one” a shorthand for combining components and ideas, not a literal merger of three whole vehicles. Ben Sulayem commissioned the conversion of his Agera RS after becoming interested in the CC850 transmission. Top Gear reported that he also had a Jesko and a CC850 on order. The magazine noted that 25 Agera RS cars were built from 2015 to 2018. Top Gear’s July 2024 report identifies Ben Sulayem as FIA president and the car’s owner.
Is the Chimera an Agera RS?
It is an Agera RS converted to use a different engine and transmission system. The Agera supplies the underlying car, but its original specifications should not be mistaken for the Chimera’s. Koenigsegg’s Agera model page lists general Agera figures of 960 bhp, 1,100 Nm and 1,435 kg; those are not published Chimera specifications.

Does the Chimera really have a manual gearbox?
It offers a manual-style driving experience, but it is not a conventional mechanical manual. Top Gear describes a nine-speed automatic—the type used in the Jesko—paired with a six-speed manual interface derived from the CC850’s Engage Shift System. Sensors and actuators make the system respond to the driver’s manual inputs. The reported modes include manual shifting, full automatic operation and steering-wheel paddles. In its September 16, 2024 drive feature, Top Gear reported that the system can stall, slip the clutch and heel-and-toe on downshifts. The magazine also noted that the clutch bite point feels different from a conventional clutch. These are observations from its drive, not independent laboratory findings. The feature’s interview with Koenigsegg founder Christian von Koenigsegg describes the conversion as an engineering challenge: the team had to marry older Agera-era vehicle technology with newer computers, screens and controls, and adapt a newer engine-and-transmission cradle to the Agera’s structure. He said, “It turned out to be about twice as much work as I had run through in my head.” The project also served as a test bed for the CC850 gearbox effort. How much power does the Koenigsegg Chimera make?
Top Gear published two slightly different sets of fuel-specific figures in 2024. They should be treated as the magazine’s reported outputs, not as one settled, independently measured result.
