The 2009 BRABUS E V12 “One of Ten” has a manufacturer-calculated top speed of 370 km/h (about 230 mph), but that is not proof it remains the fastest sedan ever made. BRABUS described it as the fastest car in its own history; the sources available do not establish an independently measured 370 km/h run or settle today’s worldwide sedan record across all categories.
Which BRABUS E V12 does the claim refer to?
It is the fourth-generation E V12, called “One of Ten,” completed in September 2009 and based on the W 212 Mercedes-Benz E-Class. BRABUS says the car premiered at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The name can cause confusion because BRABUS used E V12 for earlier cars as well, including models associated with earlier speed records.
BRABUS’s 2000s history page describes the 2009 car as a 6.3-liter V12 producing 588 kW (800 hp) and 1,100 Nm of torque.

Those are BRABUS’s published specifications, not independently verified test results in the cited material. The company says the fourth iteration became “the fastest in BRABUS history,” and explicitly describes 370 km/h as a calculated top speed. That wording is narrower than a claim to hold the fastest-sedan record worldwide.
Was 370 km/h a measured record run?
The cited BRABUS specification labels 370 km/h as calculated. It does not document a measured run at that speed. This distinction matters: a calculated maximum and a speed recorded during a run are different kinds of evidence, so the 370 km/h figure should not be described as a verified record-setting run.

BRABUS’s earlier E V12 history provides a useful contrast. The company says an earlier car exceeded 350 km/h at Nardo in 2005 and took a fastest-saloon Guinness title. The same history page gives 330 km/h for its predecessor. A contemporary 2006 account by The Auto Channel, reproducing BRABUS’s ROCKET announcement, reports a 362.4 km/h ROCKET record and identifies 350.2 km/h as the previous E V12 mark. These figures refer to different cars and record contexts; they should not be combined into a single E V12 result.

The available evidence does not prove that unqualified superlative. A fair answer depends on what counts as a sedan and what kind of speed claim qualifies: a small-series or modified car versus a production model, road-legal versus track-only, and a manufacturer calculation versus an independently recorded run. The cited sources do not provide a current, comprehensive authority that resolves the worldwide record across those categories.

The defensible statement is more precise: BRABUS published a calculated 370 km/h top speed for the 2009 E V12 “One of Ten,” and called it the fastest in BRABUS history. That does not establish it as the fastest sedan ever made, nor does the absence of a settled comparison prove another car is faster.
