The Capitol Heights, Maryland-based specialty contractor is pursuing adjacent work with partners and in places where it or parent Clark Construction Group already has a foothold, according to Engineering News-Record (ENR). ENR reported $153.57 million in regional revenue for 2025, up 32% from 2024; its October 5, 2026 article described revenue above $200 million for 2026 as a projection, not a final result.
How is C3M expanding beyond transportation?
C3M’s diversification is built around capabilities it already uses in electrical and transportation projects, rather than a wholesale move into unrelated businesses. Vice president Kevin Beecher told ENR that the company sought similar work and selected partners, markets and locations where C3M or Clark already had a presence. He said, “We expect to grow our presence in the government, water, aviation and temporary power markets.”
Those fields can involve electrical infrastructure and complex project delivery, allowing C3M to apply some of its existing experience while widening its customer and project mix. ENR’s account does not quantify how much revenue comes from each newer market, so the expansion should be understood as a stated direction rather than a reported breakdown of business lines.
What do the revenue and workforce figures show?
ENR reported C3M regional revenue of $116.33 million in 2024 and $153.57 million in 2025, a 32% year-over-year increase. The same October 5, 2026 feature projected 2026 revenue above $200 million. That 2026 figure is a forecast in the article, not an established annual result or an audited financial filing.
#1 Best Overall
ENR also reported that C3M ranked 18th on its 2026 East Top Specialty Contractors list, was founded in 2014, and had 382 regional employees. These are company and ranking figures as presented by ENR; they do not establish broader growth trends for specialty contractors.
Where does C3M work?
Although based in Capitol Heights, Maryland, C3M’s projects extend beyond the MidAtlantic. ENR reported work as far west as California and Washington state and as far south as Georgia and Texas. This geographic reach complements the company’s market strategy: pursue work in locations where it or Clark already has a foothold, while partnering where the project calls for it.

Which projects illustrate the company’s work?
Maryland Transit Administration Purple Line
ENR describes the Purple Line as a 16.2-mile light-rail system with 21 stations connecting Montgomery and Prince George’s counties in Maryland. The feature gives the project a value of $9 billion and lists it among C3M’s significant regional work.
Amtrak Ivy City Yard renovation
At Washington, D.C.’s Ivy City Yard, ENR describes an 860-foot maintenance facility with more than 55,000 square feet for inspection, service and cleaning, alongside 205,000 square feet of renovated yard space and multiple maintenance and service tracks. The work is scheduled to open in phases through 2030, according to the article.

WMATA Northern Bus Garage reconstruction
The Northern Bus Garage project shows how a change in the owner’s plans can alter electrical scope. Beecher told ENR that the facility was initially planned for diesel buses, but as design neared completion and construction had begun, WMATA changed it to its first battery-electric bus facility. The shift expanded the charging-infrastructure requirements.
Beecher said C3M dedicated resources to the additional work, reconfigured electrical systems, and procured extra switchgear and specialty charging equipment. The account illustrates the adaptation required on this project; it is not evidence that every garage conversion follows the same process.

Desert Shield and Desert Storm Memorial
ENR also lists the Desert Shield and Desert Storm Memorial in Washington, D.C., as one of C3M’s top regional projects.

ENR reports that about 50% of C3M’s work involves Clark Construction Group. Beecher said customers value Clark’s overall project management alongside C3M’s self-performed electrical work. That relationship can support project delivery and business development, while the article does not equate the share of work involving Clark with a particular share of C3M revenue or establish a specific ownership arrangement.

What does the expansion strategy suggest about C3M’s next phase?
C3M’s stated approach is to build outward from its transportation and electrical base: pursue adjacent sectors, work with Clark or other partners, and target markets and locations where the company already has connections. Its reported geographic spread and mix of transportation, facility and memorial projects show the breadth of work ENR described, while the specific revenue mix and the outcome of its 2026 forecast remain unreported in the October 5, 2026 feature.
