The largest Honda SUV in this comparison is the 2026 Pilot, at up to 200.4 inches long, and it offers the highest listed maximum cargo capacity: up to 113.7 cubic feet, depending on trim and configuration. For everyday cargo with the rear passenger row still in use, the 2026 Passport lists 44.0 cubic feet behind its second row, while the 2027 CR-V lists 34.7–39.3 cubic feet behind its second row. The 2027 HR-V is the shortest and narrowest of the models with dimensions listed here.

The figures below come from Honda-published specifications, not independent measurements. Model years are mixed: HR-V and CR-V figures are for 2027; Passport, Pilot, and Prologue figures are for 2026. Trim, drivetrain, seat position, and Honda’s standard-versus-maximum cargo configuration can change the numbers, so compare the exact version you are considering.

Honda SUV sizes at a glance

Use the exterior measurements to screen for parking and garage fit, seating and passenger volume to compare people space, and cargo volume with the passenger rows you plan to keep upright to judge everyday usefulness. Maximum cargo figures describe a different situation: seats folded for a bulky load. They are not a measure of the space available while carrying a full passenger load.

All measurements below are Honda-published US customary figures. The model-year label applies to the full row. Cargo values retain Honda’s seating-position or configuration labels; ranges indicate differences among trims or configurations listed by Honda. Select a model name to open its specifications page. Honda pages were checked on October 10, 2026; model-year pages can change, so confirm the current official specifications when comparing vehicles.

Model year and model Exterior dimensions Seating and passenger volume Published cargo volume
2027 HR-V 179.8 in long; 72.4 in wide; 63.4–63.8 in high by trim Five seats; 97.3–98.7 cu ft passenger volume 24.4 cu ft with second row up; 55.1 cu ft with second row folded

2026 Passport 191.5 in long; 79.4 in wide; 73.1 in high 115.4–119.1 cu ft passenger volume by trim; two rows 44.0 cu ft behind second row; 83.2–83.8 cu ft behind first row in standard configuration; 104.4–104.6 cu ft maximum
2026 Pilot 200.1–200.4 in long; 78.5 in wide; 70.9–72.0 in high by trim Three rows; up to eight seats with the available stowable second-row center seat, or seven with second-row captain’s chairs; 154.9–158.4 cu ft passenger volume 18.6 cu ft behind third row; 48.5 cu ft behind second row; 86.5–87.0 cu ft behind first row in standard configuration; maximum up to 113.7 cu ft, depending on trim
2026 Prologue Not listed here; Honda’s specifications page includes dimensions 107.8–111.7 cu ft passenger volume by trim 23.7–25.2 cu ft with rear seats up; 54.5–57.7 cu ft with seats down

Passenger volume describes the cabin’s passenger space; it is not additional luggage capacity. Exterior width is body width, not the width of a garage opening with the mirrors out. Honda’s published specifications establish what it reports for each vehicle, not whether a particular garage, parking space, child seat, or piece of equipment will fit.

Which Honda SUV has the most cargo space?

The 2026 Pilot has the highest maximum cargo figure in this comparison, at up to 113.7 cubic feet depending on trim. That maximum is for a folded-seat configuration. If you need to carry people and luggage at the same time, use the row-specific figure instead: the Pilot lists 18.6 cubic feet behind its third row, or 48.5 cubic feet behind the second row when the third row is not in use.

For two-row models, compare the amount behind the second row: the 2026 Passport lists 44.0 cubic feet, the 2027 CR-V lists 34.7–39.3 cubic feet depending on trim, the 2027 HR-V lists 24.4 cubic feet, and the 2026 Prologue lists 23.7–25.2 cubic feet. These values help answer a practical question—how much luggage space remains with the rear passenger row upright—more directly than a folded-seat maximum does.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Honda also gives additional cargo values for other seat positions and configurations. The CR-V’s 71.8–76.5 cubic feet is behind the first row, and the Passport’s 83.2–83.8 cubic feet is identified as a standard configuration behind the first row; its separately stated maximum is 104.4–104.6 cubic feet. The Pilot lists 86.5–87.0 cubic feet behind the first row in standard configuration, with maximum figures up to 113.7 cubic feet depending on trim. Keep those labels attached when comparing: a maximum, a standard first-row figure, and a behind-second-row figure are not interchangeable.

The 2026 Prologue’s seat-up cargo range overlaps the 2027 HR-V’s 24.4-cubic-foot figure. That is a useful reminder that a vehicle’s category or exterior size alone cannot tell you how much luggage space Honda reports in a particular seat configuration.

Separate the biggest maximum from the biggest everyday space

There are two useful answers to “Which Honda SUV has the most cargo space?” If you mean the most room with seats folded, the Pilot’s maximum of up to 113.7 cubic feet is the highest figure here. If you mean the largest listed space behind the second row in a two-row vehicle, the 2026 Passport’s 44.0 cubic feet leads this comparison. If all three Pilot rows need to remain available to passengers, its 18.6 cubic feet behind the third row is the more relevant number. State the seat arrangement alongside any cargo comparison to avoid making a maximum-capacity figure sound like everyday luggage space.

Which Honda SUV is biggest, and which is easiest to park?

By length, the 2026 Pilot is largest among the models here, at 200.1–200.4 inches. The 2026 Passport is next at 191.5 inches, followed by the 2027 CR-V at 184.8 inches and the 2027 HR-V at 179.8 inches. The Pilot’s listed length is about 20 inches greater than the HR-V’s, but length alone does not indicate the size or shape of the cargo floor or the room available in every seating position.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For width, the 2026 Passport is widest among the models with figures listed here, at 79.4 inches. The 2026 Pilot is 78.5 inches wide, the 2027 CR-V is 73.5 inches, and the 2027 HR-V is 72.4 inches. The Prologue’s dimensions are available on Honda’s linked specifications page, but are not reproduced in this comparison.

Height can matter when entering a low garage or using a covered parking structure. Listed heights range from 63.4–63.8 inches for the 2027 HR-V to 73.1 inches for the 2026 Passport among models with measurements shown. The 2027 CR-V’s height differs by drivetrain: Honda lists 66.2 inches for 2WD and 66.5 inches for AWD. Trim-specific height ranges also appear for the HR-V and Pilot.

Check a real parking space before deciding

  1. Measure the usable opening and interior. Check garage-door clearance, interior length, and width at the points where the vehicle and doors will sit. A published vehicle width does not tell you how much room is left to open a door.
  2. Allow for items outside the listed body dimensions. Account for mirrors, roof accessories, hitch-mounted equipment, and any clearance margin you need. The comparison figures do not establish the final width or height of a vehicle equipped with accessories.
  3. Compare like measurements. Match the exact model year, trim, and drivetrain you are considering to Honda’s specifications. For the CR-V, for example, the listed height changes between 2WD and AWD.
  4. Confirm the actual vehicle and parking situation. If clearance is tight, check the specific vehicle’s configuration and your own space rather than treating a published dimension as a guarantee of fit.

“Biggest” can mean more than one thing in a sizing comparison. The Pilot is longest, while the Passport is widest among the models with dimensions listed here. The Prologue is not ranked by exterior footprint in this guide because its length, width, and height are not reproduced in the comparison. Do not infer a model’s parking fit from its cargo capacity or passenger volume: those figures describe different aspects of the vehicle.

Which Honda SUV fits your passenger needs?

The HR-V, CR-V, and Passport are two-row choices in this comparison; Honda lists seating for five on the HR-V’s current model page. The Pilot is the only model here whose cited specification page confirms three rows. Honda says the 2026 Pilot seats up to eight with the available stowable second-row center seat, or seven with second-row captain’s chairs. The seat arrangement therefore affects how many people it can carry, not just passenger comfort.

Passenger-volume figures offer a broad cabin-space comparison: 97.3–98.7 cubic feet for the 2027 HR-V, 103.5–106 cubic feet for the 2027 CR-V, 115.4–119.1 cubic feet for the 2026 Passport, 154.9–158.4 cubic feet for the 2026 Pilot, and 107.8–111.7 cubic feet for the 2026 Prologue. They are not a substitute for checking the exact seat positions that matter to you. Honda specifically lists 41 inches of second-row legroom for the 2027 CR-V; the other figures in this comparison do not establish equivalent legroom measurements for every model.

If you need a third row occupied regularly, consider what remains for cargo as well as the Pilot’s seating capacity: Honda lists 18.6 cubic feet behind that row. If the third row is folded, the Pilot’s published behind-second-row figure is 48.5 cubic feet. A two-row model avoids the separate third-row trade-off, but its cargo figure should still be matched to the passenger row you intend to use.

What the passenger-volume numbers can and cannot tell you

Passenger volume gives a broad sense of cabin space, but it does not tell you precisely how a particular passenger will fit. It is not a promise of equal legroom across rows, nor does it say how much space remains for bags. Only the CR-V second-row legroom figure of 41 inches is specified in the figures compared here. If a child seat, taller passenger, or regular third-row passenger is central to your decision, evaluate the relevant seating position in the exact model rather than treating the overall passenger-volume number as a substitute.

The Pilot’s seating configuration is also a practical choice: Honda describes an available stowable second-row center seat for up to eight occupants, or captain’s chairs for seven. Those configurations should not be conflated when counting seats. If the additional seat is important, confirm that the specific trim you are considering has the appropriate arrangement.

Choose by the load you actually carry

Everyday bags with the rear passenger row in use

Start with cargo behind the second row for the HR-V, CR-V, and Passport, or behind the third row if you expect to use all three Pilot rows. The Passport’s 44.0-cubic-foot figure is the largest listed behind the second row among the two-row models here. The Pilot’s 18.6 cubic feet behind the third row is the relevant figure when all three rows are occupied. Prologue’s 23.7–25.2-cubic-foot rear-seat-up range is worth comparing directly with the HR-V’s 24.4 cubic feet rather than assuming the larger exterior vehicle must provide more seat-up cargo.

For a family that regularly carries passengers in the Pilot’s third row, compare the 18.6-cubic-foot space behind it with the bags or other items you normally bring. Folding the third row changes the available load space, with Honda listing 48.5 cubic feet behind the second row in that arrangement. That makes the Pilot’s choice less about a single “cargo capacity” number and more about which combination of seats and luggage has to work on an ordinary trip.

Occasional bulky items

For a load that requires folding seats, compare the folded-seat or maximum number that matches the vehicle and configuration: HR-V 55.1 cubic feet with the second row folded; CR-V 71.8–76.5 cubic feet behind the first row; Passport 83.2–83.8 cubic feet behind the first row in standard configuration and 104.4–104.6 cubic feet maximum; Pilot 86.5–87.0 cubic feet behind the first row in standard configuration and up to 113.7 cubic feet maximum; Prologue 54.5–57.7 cubic feet with seats down. Honda’s published labels differ, so do not treat every figure in this list as measured in an identical configuration.

Volume alone cannot confirm whether a specific object will fit. A long, narrow item may fit one cargo area but not another with a greater cubic-foot rating. Check the opening, floor length, shape, and seat-folding arrangement against the object’s dimensions, and account for passengers who must remain seated.

A quick way to narrow the shortlist

  • For a smaller listed footprint: the 2027 HR-V is shortest and narrowest among the models with dimensions shown, at 179.8 inches long and 72.4 inches wide. It seats five and lists 24.4 cubic feet behind its second row.
  • For more listed rear-row cargo than the HR-V: the 2027 CR-V lists 34.7–39.3 cubic feet behind the second row, along with 41 inches of second-row legroom. Its exact cargo figure depends on trim.
  • For two rows and the largest listed second-row cargo figure: the 2026 Passport lists 44.0 cubic feet behind the second row. It is also 191.5 inches long and 79.4 inches wide, so compare its footprint with your parking space.
  • For three rows: the 2026 Pilot is the only model in this comparison with confirmed three-row seating. Consider both its seating configuration and the 18.6 cubic feet listed behind the third row.
  • For an additional seat-up cargo comparison: the 2026 Prologue lists 23.7–25.2 cubic feet with rear seats up. Compare that directly with the seat-up figure for the model you are considering, not with a folded-seat maximum.

These are starting points, not universal recommendations. The right fit depends on the number of passengers, rows that must stay in use, the shape and size of the cargo, and the actual parking space.

How to use the figures without overreading them

  • Keep model years attached. The figures in this guide combine 2027 HR-V and CR-V specifications with 2026 Passport, Pilot, and Prologue specifications. The years are not a single-model-year lineup comparison.
  • Keep trim and drivetrain attached. Honda reports ranges where the number changes across trims or configurations, and the CR-V height explicitly varies with drivetrain. Check the exact trim’s specifications rather than treating a range as one vehicle’s measurement.
  • Compare the same seat position. Behind the second row answers a different question from behind the first row. For a three-row Pilot, cargo behind the third row is the relevant value when all rows are in use.
  • Distinguish standard from maximum cargo. The Passport and Pilot pages give standard first-row and maximum figures that differ. Preserve Honda’s stated labels instead of picking the larger number without its configuration.
  • Treat the values as manufacturer specifications. Honda’s pages are primary sources for Honda’s reported specifications, not independent cargo-volume tests. The figures are appropriate for a published-spec comparison, but they do not establish that measurement methods are identical across models and model years.

Practical cargo details to check

Before choosing based on volume, list the items you carry most often and how many people travel with them. Strollers, sports equipment, suitcases, groceries, and pets make different demands on floor shape and access. A maximum cargo number can be useful for occasional hauling, but it says little about whether those items fit while the needed passenger seats remain upright.

Honda’s HR-V model page lists a cargo tray and cargo cover among its accessories. If you want a tray or liner for any model, match it to the exact model year and trim; the existence of an accessory listing does not establish that a separate product listing will fit or be approved for every configuration.

Are Honda cargo-volume figures measured independently?

The figures in this guide are published by Honda. They are suitable for comparing Honda’s stated specifications, but they are not independent cargo-volume tests, and the figures alone do not establish that every model-year measurement method is identical.

Can I use exterior dimensions to tell whether a Honda SUV will fit in my garage?

Use the listed length, width, and height as an initial check, then measure your usable garage opening and interior space. Account for mirrors, roof accessories, hitch-mounted equipment, and room to open doors. Published body dimensions are not a guarantee that a particular vehicle will fit your parking space.
