What is changing?
Honda is refreshing the H mark associated with its automobile business. The company says it first adopted an H mark to represent Honda automobiles in 1963, and that the design has changed several times since. This is another update in that history, not the first redesign.
Honda first presented the refreshed mark in connection with its next-generation EVs at the January 10, 2024, unveiling of the Honda 0 Series. The January 13, 2026, announcement gave it a broader role as the symbol of Honda’s automobile business.
What does Honda’s new H logo mean?
Honda says the refreshed shape resembles “two outstretched hands.” The company describes that design as representing its commitment to expand the possibilities of mobility and serve customer needs. Honda also says the refresh expresses its commitment to company transformation and to pursuing new challenges and advancements. These are Honda’s stated design intentions; the company’s releases do not report independent user research on how people interpret the mark.

When will the new H mark appear on cars?
Honda plans to use the mark on next-generation EV and hybrid-electric models introduced from 2027 onward. The announcement describes a planned, gradual rollout, not a date by which all cars on sale or all existing vehicles will carry the new badge.
