Honda Racing Corporation USA (HRC US) unveiled the Passport TrailSport HRC Concept at the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Based on the all-new 2026 Honda Passport, it is a purpose-built off-road and overlanding demonstrator—not a confirmed production model.
The concept combines a 60 mm suspension lift, one-inch-larger tires, additional underbody protection, recovery equipment and a complete camp-lighting setup to show how HRC’s motorsports expertise might be applied to a production Passport.

What is the Passport TrailSport HRC Concept?
The vehicle is an HRC US engineering and design demonstrator built from the 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport. HRC presented it at the 2025 SEMA Show, held November 4–7 in Las Vegas. The company describes the project as an exploration of how its performance knowledge could elevate a production Passport for demanding off-road and overlanding use.
Its purpose is to demonstrate a possible direction for the Passport, rather than introduce a new trim level. Rob Ray, HRC US general manager of Performance Parts, said the concept is an example of the company exploring “potential applications of HRC performance DNA beyond traditional motorsports.”

What Honda changed for trail use
Clearance and suspension
- A 60 mm suspension lift increases space beneath the vehicle.
- The tires have a one-inch increase in diameter.
- New front and rear dampers are fitted for the demonstrator.
- A one-off exhaust is part of the prototype package.
Honda has not published independent trail testing, approach or departure-angle measurements, articulation figures or additional ground-clearance data for the concept. The stated lift and tire-size changes should therefore be treated as design specifications, not proof of a particular performance gain.
Bodywork and underbody protection
- Redesigned lower front and rear bumpers are intended to improve approach and departure angles.
- Extended aluminum skid plates protect vulnerable components, including the center bearing, prop shaft and rear drive unit.
- Wider rock sliders provide side-impact protection and can also serve as side steps.
- A swing-out carrier holds a full-size spare tire.
Overlanding equipment on the concept
The HRC Passport is configured as a self-contained campsite and recovery vehicle rather than simply a lifted SUV.

- An integrated rear air compressor supports tire-pressure adjustment away from paved roads.
- A low-profile roof rack carries a side canopy and rooftop tent.
- Prototype wheels and the larger tires complete the off-road setup.
Multi-zone lighting
The concept adds upgraded fog lights, side camp lights, a rooftop light bar, ditch lights and rear chase lights. A custom multi-zone controller operates the lighting groups so the driver can select the illumination needed for trail driving, campsite work or convoy use.

The cabin includes a refrigerator, accessory mounting panels, HRC-blue Alcantara inserts and HRC branding. Matte Thermal Orange paint, a blacked-out roof and prototype wheels give the exterior its show-vehicle appearance; the blue Alcantara and branding continue that motorsports-inspired theme inside.

Concept versus a retail Passport TrailSport
| Area | Passport TrailSport HRC Concept | Retail status or comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Base vehicle | All-new 2026 Honda Passport | Concept configuration; the release does not announce a matching HRC production trim. |
| Suspension | New dampers and a 60 mm lift | Prototype modification; factory TrailSport suspension specifications are not stated in the supplied announcements. |
| Tires | One-inch increase in tire diameter | Prototype fitment; consumer fitment, clearance and warranty effects are unconfirmed. |
| Protection | Extended aluminum skid plates, protected driveline components and rock sliders | Experimental package; no complete retail parts catalog is announced. |
| Recovery | 8,000 lb winch, swing-out full-size spare carrier and rear air compressor | Shown on the demonstrator; pricing, dealer supply and installation instructions are not stated. |

Is Honda putting the HRC Passport into production?
Not at the time of the HRC US announcement. Honda says it is continuing to evaluate how the concept could appear in future products, but it does not announce a production HRC Passport, retail pricing, a dealer channel or a complete consumer parts catalog.
Accordingly, the lift, dampers, skid plates, rock sliders, winch mount, lighting controller, roof rack and other unique components should be regarded as experimental or prototype parts unless Honda later confirms specific availability. A production Passport owner should not assume that a concept component is approved for the vehicle, compatible with a particular model year or covered by the factory warranty.

Can you buy the HRC lift, winch or roof rack?
There is no confirmed retail source for the exact HRC prototype parts in the announcement. Generic accessories such as an 8,000 lb winch, a rooftop tent, skid plates or rock sliders may exist from other suppliers, but their fitment, mounting requirements, electrical load, vehicle clearance and warranty implications are separate questions.
- Verify the exact Passport model year and TrailSport configuration before buying any accessory.
- Confirm load ratings for recovery gear, roof systems and mounting hardware.
- Check whether a lift changes alignment, suspension travel, braking or advanced-driver-assistance-system calibration.
- Ask Honda or the component manufacturer in writing about warranty coverage and approved installation.
HRC has discussed merchandise and a broader performance-parts business at overlanding events, but that does not establish that the concept’s unique hardware is available to consumers.

What the SEMA reveal does—and does not—prove
The reveal establishes that HRC US built and displayed a heavily modified 2026 Passport-based demonstrator with specified off-road and overlanding equipment. It does not establish production intent, a final parts design, certified performance results, pricing or nationwide service support. Those details would require a later Honda or HRC announcement.
