Honda Cars India announced the updated Elevate on October 6, 2026. The update brings styling revisions, cabin changes and additional comfort and parking equipment. Honda describes a refreshed grille and lighting, a connected rear lamp, a revised 17-inch alloy finish, a dual-tone cabin and premium upholstery.

The announcement also lists ventilation for the front and rear seats, power-adjustable front seats, a 360-degree surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, an electric parking brake with auto brake hold, and Honda SENSING with Low-Speed Follow. Those additions make the updated Elevate a stronger feature proposition than a comparison based on older equipment lists would suggest. Honda President and CEO Toshiyuki Yanagisawa said in the October 6 announcement, “Being the lead market for its sales, India is the first country to launch the New Elevate globally.” That gives the update a notable India-market launch, but the buyer-facing question is still practical: which of the announced items is fitted to the specific trim on sale, and how much does that trim cost on road?

The powertrain remains a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, paired with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed CVT with paddle shifters. That relatively simple choice is useful if you have already decided on petrol and want to choose between a manual and an automatic-style transmission. It also means the Elevate does not offer the breadth of configuration choices available across the Seltos range. The update adds equipment rather than changing the basic engine-and-transmission decision, so existing buyers who want a different fuel or powertrain type will need to look at the Seltos range or other models.
What does the Kia Seltos offer?
Kia India lists 11 Seltos trims, and equipment varies considerably across them. The lower trims include touchscreen equipment and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while selected higher trims add features such as ventilated seats, Bose audio, ambient lighting, connected services, a 360-degree camera, a blind-view monitor and Level 2 ADAS described by Kia as having 21 autonomous features.
That range gives Seltos shoppers more ways to configure a vehicle around their priorities, but it is important not to treat a headline feature as standard across the lineup. For instance, a buyer interested in a 360-degree camera or Level 2 driver assistance should confirm the exact trim and equipment list rather than assume every Seltos has it. The same principle applies to the Elevate: Honda’s update announcement names the new equipment, but a buyer should verify its fitment on the exact variant being priced.
The breadth of trims is useful when you want to trade equipment against price: you may be able to consider an entry or mid-level Seltos rather than paying for a top specification. But the feature count across an entire lineup is not a fair comparison with one Elevate variant. Build a shortlist around the trim and transmission you can actually buy, then check which of your must-have items remain on that version. A feature available in the range may require a substantially more expensive Seltos trim.
How the price ranges compare
The published price ranges cover different equipment levels, so they do not identify a like-for-like value winner. Autocar India reported updated Elevate ex-showroom prices from ₹11.80 lakh for the SV manual to ₹16.89 lakh for the ZX CVT. Kia India’s showroom page lists the all-new Seltos from ₹10,99,900 to ₹21,56,900 ex-showroom. Kia’s lower entry price and higher ceiling reflect a broader trim and equipment spread; neither range says what two similarly equipped vehicles will cost in your city.

These are ex-showroom figures, not the amount you will pay to take delivery. Ex-showroom prices exclude costs that affect the on-road total, including taxes, insurance and dealer charges. Obtain current, same-city on-road quotes for the exact variants you have shortlisted. Ask for a written breakdown and quote date, and compare the same items in each quote. Dealer offers and availability can change, so an old online price or a headline starting figure is not a reliable substitute for a current quote.
The range comparison is still useful as a first filter. The Elevate’s reported spread runs from a manual entry variant to a CVT at the top of the listed range. Kia’s displayed spread is much wider, which means its least expensive Seltos and most expensive Seltos are unlikely to represent the same equipment proposition. Do not read the Seltos maximum as the price of a direct Elevate rival, or the minimum as proof that a similarly equipped Seltos undercuts the Honda.

If a dealer offers a discount or an accessory package, separate that from the vehicle price in the quote. Ask whether any dealer-installed item is optional, what the insurance covers, and whether the quoted offer is conditional. The goal is not to eliminate every difference in the deal, but to make sure both totals include comparable items. Finance can also change monthly payments without changing the underlying vehicle price; compare any financing offer on its stated terms rather than treating a lower instalment as a lower purchase cost.
Which features matter most in a fair comparison?
Parking and visibility
The updated Elevate announcement lists a 360-degree surround-view camera and front and rear parking sensors. Kia lists a 360-degree camera and blind-view monitor on specified higher Seltos trims. These systems are not interchangeable in every situation: check the exact trim, camera views and sensor fitment, then test how easily you can judge the vehicle’s position from the driver’s seat. Honda’s specifications page also lists LaneWatch and a multi-angle rear camera; confirm whether those older-page specifications apply to the updated variant you are buying.
When you test each system, use it in a setting that resembles your routine: reversing into a narrow space, judging a kerb or checking the area beside the vehicle. Look at how the image is presented and whether you find it easy to interpret. A surround-view camera can be valuable for a buyer who regularly parks in tight spaces, but the model-level presence of a camera does not tell you whether it is fitted to the trim within budget. Verify the equipment before treating it as part of the value calculation.
Seat comfort and cabin equipment
Honda’s update adds ventilation for front and rear seating and power-adjustable front seats, according to its October 6 announcement. Kia lists ventilated seats on selected higher trims. Ask what the named driver-assistance package does and under what conditions its functions operate. Do not assume that the number of functions is a direct measure of safety or that differently named systems behave identically. If a feature is important, read the manufacturer’s current description and confirm its fitment on the trim you are pricing. You should also consider whether the driver-assistance functions feel useful and understandable to you during a test drive.

Take both shortlisted variants on a test drive with the passengers who will regularly use them. Practical fit also includes the everyday driving experience. Test the exact transmission you would buy, and note how comfortable you feel with its controls and response in your normal traffic conditions. This is particularly important when comparing an Elevate CVT with a Seltos automatic: the word “automatic” does not guarantee the same driving feel, and a different fuel type makes the comparison even less direct.
