Before exploring settings, verify your grade from your vehicle documents or with a Honda dealer, and compare the fitted equipment with the matching manual. Honda says smartphone connectivity depends on the phone’s compatibility and configuration, so a feature’s presence in the vehicle documentation does not guarantee identical behavior with every phone.
This matters especially when a guide refers to a feature, button or menu without identifying the year and grade. A brochure can tell you that a feature is offered; it does not necessarily show that your particular car has it, how it is controlled, or whether a setting persists after restart. Check compatibility as well as the connection method. Honda cautions that smartphone connectivity depends on the phone’s compatibility and configuration. Phone software can also change the prompts you see, so the steps below may not appear word-for-word on every device. Apple CarPlay is listed as supported in the brochure, but the available Honda guide provides the detailed sequence for Android Auto; do not assume that its Android-specific steps apply to CarPlay.

Honda lists a 10.25-inch touchscreen and, on ZX, a sub-display with a clock, calendar, compass and quick settings. Review the available quick settings and decide which information is useful to you. The brochure confirms the functions and quick-settings area, but not the exact steps for customizing them; consult the manual matching your car before changing a display option.
For example, you might want to know whether the clock, calendar or compass is visible in the configuration you use most, or simply check what the quick-settings area makes available. Those are reasons to inspect the display, not claims that a particular layout can be selected on every Elevate. The brochure does not describe which items can be customized or how, so avoid following an unverified menu path from a different year or grade.
Learn the fitted assistance features before relying on them
If your Elevate has Honda SENSING, identify which functions are fitted and learn their warnings and controls from the correct manual. The brochure names six functions, but it does not support a universal recommendation about settings, sensitivity or defaults. - Select Connect New device and follow the pairing prompts.
- When prompted on the vehicle, check the Android Auto box or choose YES to enable the connection.
- Accept the connection on the phone, then complete the Android Auto tutorial while parked safely.
Honda’s guide says the on-screen keyboard cannot be used while the vehicle is moving. Do not try to complete setup or enter information while driving. For phones running Android 9.0 or earlier, Honda’s guide says the Android Auto app must be downloaded from Google Play. If the connection does not proceed as expected, pause setup until the car is safely parked. In particular, ACC is not self-driving, and LKAS is not a hands-free lane-centering system. Honda describes the functions as assistance while cruising, and says the driver must remain vigilant. Keep your attention on the road and your hands and judgment available to control the vehicle. Do not rely on an alert or intervention as proof that a road is clear or that the system will act in every situation.

Can I use Android Auto wirelessly or with a USB cable?
