Honda’s 0 α (Alpha) electric SUV has been reported testing on broken roads in India, but the sighting is evidence of testing—not proof of its ride quality or final suspension setup. Honda plans to begin production-model sales in 2027, with Japan and India among the main markets.
What the broken-road sighting tells us—and what it doesn’t
Times of India Auto reported seeing a 0 α test vehicle on broken roads on October 3, 2026. That suggests the SUV is being evaluated in challenging road conditions; it does not reveal how the production vehicle will ride, what suspension it will use, or how durable it will be. Honda CEO Toshihiro Mibe’s speech overview gives a more specific timeframe for Japan: the three 0 Series models, including 0 α, are planned to go on sale there before the end of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2028. What Honda has said about the 0 α
Honda presented the 0 α prototype at the Japan Mobility Show on October 29, 2025, calling it a next-generation electric SUV and a “gateway model” for the 0 Series. The company says its “Thin, Light, and Wise” development approach informs the vehicle’s packaging. In Honda’s description, the “Thin” approach aims for a low vehicle height without compromising ground clearance, while preserving cabin space. Which specifications remain unconfirmed?
The cited announcements and reports do not establish the production 0 α’s price, battery capacity, range, charging rate, dimensions, or final suspension specification. They also provide no measured road-test result. Buyers should wait for Honda’s production-model details rather than treat a prototype sighting or a design objective as a confirmed spec.
