The small squaredrop-style trailer includes a basic cabin and rear galley, while the mattress and power station are separate considerations.
How much did the Hiker Highway Lite cost?
In a September 26, 2024 launch report, New Atlas reported an introductory base price of $4,999 for the Highway Lite. It also relayed Hiker’s projected range of $9,871–$11,204 for buyers choosing popular options. Those are launch-era figures, not verified current prices, and the projected equipped range does not mean every configuration costs that much.
The low entry price reflects a basic, customizable starting point. A buyer comparing prices should ask Hiker for the current base build, the cost of each desired option, and any applicable order or delivery terms. Compare like with like: a bare or lightly equipped shell is not equivalent to a finished camper.
What comes with the Highway Lite?
New Atlas described an aluminum square-tube chassis and Hiker’s aluminum-skinned, wood-frame body. The reported standard equipment includes:

The rear galley is simple rather than a full kitchen. The power station is optional, and the mattress is sold separately. Confirm the current standard equipment and option list with Hiker, since the reported details describe the 2024 launch configuration.
How big is it, and will two people fit?
The launch report gives an overall length of 11.7 feet (3.6 m) and a 4-by-8-foot floor. It reports 94 inches (238 cm) of usable interior floor length and more than 46 inches (117 cm) of sleeping-space width. Those dimensions may suit two people in principle, but the mattress is not included. Measure the actual sleeping area and check the dimensions of any mattress before buying.

Can your vehicle tow the Highway Lite?
New Atlas reported a starting curb weight of 765 pounds (347 kg) and a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 1,900 pounds (862 kg). The GVWR is the trailer’s maximum rated loaded weight; it is not the weight of the trailer as equipped for a particular trip. The article also reports a 2,200-pound axle and standard electric brakes.
These figures do not establish that the trailer is suitable for a specific vehicle. Before towing, check your vehicle’s rated towing capacity, tongue-weight limit, hitch requirements, and any other applicable limits. Account for the trailer’s actual configuration and loaded weight, including options and cargo, and confirm that the complete setup is within the vehicle and hitch ratings. The launch article provides no vehicle-fitment list.

What kind of camping is it suited to?
The Highway Lite’s compact dimensions and basic shell make it a starting point for buyers willing to add or customize equipment. New Atlas characterized it as better suited to graded roads than rough off-road tracks; it did not provide a formal terrain rating. If your routes include rough trails, confirm the trailer’s suitability directly rather than treating its lightweight build as an off-road specification.
