High-Tech Motorcycles With Innovative Features: Radar, Electric Power and More

A clear guide to notable motorcycle technology, with production bikes, optional Honda E-Clutch models and prototypes kept distinct.

High-tech motorcycles use technology for very different jobs: radar can assist with following distance, an IMU can inform cornering electronics, electronic suspension can adjust damping, and an electric powertrain brings new charging needs. The manufacturer information available supports several notable examples, but not a fair, equally detailed ranking of ten bikes. This guide distinguishes production models, optional equipment and prototypes rather than padding a top-ten list.

How these motorcycles use technology

The examples below are not directly comparable performance tests. Some are touring bikes with rider-assistance systems; others emphasize sport riding, suspension control, electric operation or clutch assistance. Features and availability can vary by model year, trim and market, so manufacturer descriptions should not be read as guarantees that every listed item is standard on every bike sold worldwide.

Motorcycle Technology highlighted Context and availability
Honda WN7 Electric powertrain, CCS2 fast charging and Type 2 normal charging Honda’s 2025 announcement; manufacturer range figure is in WMTC mode
Honda CB1000GT Electronically adjusted suspension and six-axis-IMU Cornering ABS Honda’s 2026-line-up announcement, dated 4 November 2025; market availability may differ
KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE S EVO Front radar, adaptive cruise and distance-related assistance KTM’s 2025 product description; confirm equipment by trim and market
Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX family Adaptive cruise, rear radar blind-spot alerts and forward collision warning Described on Kawasaki’s 2026 European product page; not evidence of identical equipment in every region
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Bosch IMU-based electronics and redesigned aerodynamic winglets Kawasaki’s 2026 page; navigation capability and other features vary by market

Production motorcycles with distinctive technology

Honda WN7: electric power and charging choices

Honda describes the WN7 as its first electric motorcycle. Its 2025 announcement specifies a fixed 9.3 kWh lithium-ion battery and a cruising range of 140 km in WMTC mode. Those are Honda figures, not an independent real-world range test.

The WN7 supports Type 2 normal charging and CCS2 fast charging. Honda says a fast charger can take the battery from 20% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes, and a normal charge from 0% to 100% takes under 2.4 hours under the company’s stated measurement basis. Honda cautions that charging time varies with the environment, so these figures are not universal guarantees.

  • Everything You Need - The Cobra RAD 480i radar detector comes with a 12V vehicle power cord, suction cup car windshield mount, and a hook and loop fastener for dash mounting, for wherever the road takes you.

Honda also describes a frameless structure that uses the battery case as part of the main frame, regenerative braking with adjustable deceleration, and forward and reverse assistance at walking speed. The charging standards are useful to know, but a cable or charger still needs to be checked for connector, electrical supply, region and vehicle compatibility.

Honda CB1000GT: electronic suspension for touring

Honda’s announcement for its 2026 line-up, dated 4 November 2025, describes the CB1000GT as a sports tourer. Listed equipment includes Showa EERA electronically adjusted suspension, throttle-by-wire, rear panniers, heated grips, cruise control, a quickshifter and RoadSync connectivity. Honda also lists Cornering ABS working through a six-axis IMU.

This combination targets changing road and touring conditions rather than one isolated feature. The announcement establishes Honda’s described specification and model-year context; it does not establish that every item is standard in every market.

KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE S EVO: radar-assisted touring

KTM’s 2025 product page describes a fifth-generation front-radar and adaptive-cruise architecture for the 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE S EVO. Listed functions include truck detection improvements, group-riding mode, a hold function, distance assistance, automatic start/stop with AMT, braking assistance, collision warning and distance warning. KTM also describes an 8-inch touchscreen with integrated offline map navigation.

  • Detects all police radar and laser bands
  • 360 degree radar and laser protection
  • Waterproof

These are rider-assistance and interface features, not autonomous riding. Equipment availability should be checked for the specific trim and market rather than assumed from the general product description.

Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX: radar for following distance and nearby traffic

Kawasaki’s 2026 European product page describes adaptive cruise control that adjusts speed to maintain a selected following distance, plus rear-facing radar for blind-spot alerts. It also lists forward collision warning, a tire-pressure monitoring system, a 6.5-inch TFT display and Kawasaki SPIN connectivity.

The cited page is European-market information. It does not establish that every Ninja H2 SX trim or regional version has the same feature set.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R: IMU electronics and aerodynamic winglets

Kawasaki’s 2026 page describes an electronics package that uses input from a Bosch IMU, alongside riding modes, electronic cruise control, smartphone connectivity and TFT navigation capability. Kawasaki says navigation requires a licence, and feature availability varies by market.

Honda E-Clutch: five models with an optional clutch-assistance system

At EICMA 2025, Honda announced E-Clutch as an option for five models: the XL750 Transalp, CB750 Hornet, NX500, CBR500R and CB500 Hornet. “Option” matters: the announcement does not mean the system is standard on every bike or available in every market. It establishes the model list and optional status, but does not provide enough detail here to explain the system’s operation or compare its behavior with other clutch systems.

Prototype technologies, not current buying options

Honda V3R 900 E-Compressor

Honda identifies the V3R 900 E-Compressor as a prototype using a 900 cc V3 engine with an electronically controlled compressor. The company says development toward mass production will continue. Any performance objective described by Honda is a development aim, not an independently verified result; this prototype should not be treated as a currently available production motorcycle.

NIU Concept 06

NIU’s official Concept 06 page proposes adaptive cruise control, rear radar alerts, adjustable handlebars and windscreen, hill descent control, hill-start assist and cameras, among other features. NIU states: “Concept 06 is a prototype vehicle. Final specifications may vary.” These are proposed concept features, not a confirmed production specification.

What to check before treating a feature as a buying decision

  • Market and trim: Confirm the exact model year, trim and country. Product pages may describe equipment that differs across regions.
  • Standard versus optional: Check whether a feature is included, an option, or merely announced for a model.
  • Rider assistance: Radar and warning systems assist the rider; their presence does not make a motorcycle autonomous.
  • Electric charging: For the WN7, verify that the charging equipment and supply match the relevant Type 2 or CCS2 connection and local requirements.
  • Prototype status: Treat concept and prototype features as provisional until a manufacturer confirms a production model and final specification.
