The Hennessey Venom F5-M is an open-top, rear-wheel-drive hypercar built around a six-speed gated manual. Hennessey announced it in 2024 with 1,817 bhp; in July 2026, the company announced an Evolution-updated F5-M with 2,031 bhp. Those figures describe different dated specifications, not a contradiction to smooth over.

How much power does the Venom F5-M have?

It depends on which announcement you mean. Hennessey’s September 10, 2024 announcement gave the original F5-M Roadster 1,817 bhp from its Fury V8. The company’s model page lists 1,817 hp, 1,193 lb-ft of torque and an 8,000-rpm maximum. In its July 6, 2026 announcement, Hennessey described an F5-M debut model with Evolution enhancements and 2,031 bhp.

Announcement Power figure What it describes
September 10, 2024 1,817 bhp Original F5-M Roadster announcement
July 6, 2026 2,031 bhp F5-M with Evolution enhancements, announced for its public debut

Both are manufacturer-published figures, not independent dynamometer results. Hennessey’s 2026 announcement does not establish that every F5-M already delivered has been retrofitted to the updated specification. The company’s 2024 announcement and 2026 release are the relevant dated claims.

Does the Venom F5-M have a manual transmission?

Yes. The F5-M uses a six-speed gated manual. Hennessey says the shifter is physically connected to the gearbox, and its 2026 release says the manual is paired with traction control and engine management. It remains a rear-wheel-drive car, so the driver—not an automatic transmission—selects each gear.

The manual layout shapes the cabin as well as the drivetrain. The center console was redesigned around a billet-aluminum gated shifter, and Hennessey says the cockpit was reworked for manual operation. Company founder and CEO John Hennessey described the aim in 2024 as a manual F5 requested by clients and focused on driver engagement; that is the manufacturer’s stated rationale, not an independent assessment.

What changed with the 2026 Evolution-updated F5-M?

The July 2026 announcement presents the F5-M at its public debut with Evolution enhancements. Alongside the new 2,031-bhp figure, Hennessey lists a new carbon-fiber tub and adaptive suspension that varies by drive mode. The release does not provide a before-and-after performance test, so the update should be understood as a manufacturer-announced specification rather than proof of a measured lap-time or speed gain.

Do not confuse this production F5-M run with the manual Venom F5 Revolution LF announced in 2025. Hennessey described that car as a single bespoke commission with Evolution features; it is a separate one-off, not one of the 12 F5-M Roadsters.

What makes the F5-M visually different?

Its most conspicuous feature is a 55-inch (1,400 mm) dorsal fin extending from the roof scoop toward the rear deck. Hennessey says the fin supports high-speed aerodynamics. The car also has bespoke bodywork and an integrated roof scoop; the company’s 2026 announcement describes the open-top Roadster configuration and revised chassis.

Design Director Nathan Malinick said the manual prompted a wider redesign, including the center console and aerodynamic treatment. That is Hennessey’s explanation of the design brief, not independent evidence of aerodynamic performance.

How many will be made, and what did they cost?

Hennessey stated that the F5-M Roadster run was limited to 12 cars worldwide and said in its 2024 announcement that all had sold. Its July 2026 release again describes a 12-car run and gives a starting price of $2.65 million before taxes. These are the manufacturer’s production and price statements, not an independent inventory check or confirmation of final transaction prices. The company said other examples were allocated to clients around the world.

The F5-M is therefore not a generally available new-car purchase. Readers seeking information about other Venom F5 models or bespoke commissions can use Hennessey’s official model information and contact channel; the cited announcements do not establish current availability of an F5-M.

What the published figures do—and do not—establish

Hennessey’s announcements and model page establish the company’s stated specifications, configuration, production limit and price. They do not provide independent test results or third-party verification of a top-speed claim. The 1,817-bhp figure belongs to the 2024 announcement; 2,031 bhp belongs to the 2026 Evolution-updated debut specification. Keeping those dates attached is essential when describing the car.
