A 39-year-old man died after a Holden Commodore ute and a white Toyota Landcruiser tray-top collided on Albany Highway near the Tonkin Highway off-ramp in Gosnells on Monday, 10 February 2025. PerthNow reported that the Toyota driver was taken to Armadale Hospital with minor injuries.
When and where did the Gosnells crash happen?
Emergency services were called just after 10:30am on Monday, 10 February 2025, after reports of a collision on Albany Highway near the Tonkin Highway off-ramp and intersection in Gosnells, PerthNow reported. Its initial account said the 39-year-old Holden driver died at the scene.
Which vehicles were involved, and what happened to the other driver?
PerthNow reported that the Holden Commodore ute collided with a white Toyota Landcruiser tray-top. The Toyota driver was taken to Armadale Hospital with minor injuries. The two PerthNow reports give conflicting descriptions of his age: the initial report said he was 68, while the next-day follow-up described him as being in his 50s. His age is therefore not clear from those accounts.
What did police say about the airwing and a pursuit?
In reports published on 10 and 11 February, PerthNow said WA Police reported that the Holden had been observed by the police airwing minutes before the collision. Police also said patrol cars were not chasing the vehicle when the crash occurred. Those details do not, on their own, establish why the collision happened.

What did the witness report?
In PerthNow’s 11 February follow-up, witness Phil Gorman recalled: “It was horrendous, it was the loudest noise you could think of and there was debris just going everywhere,” The West Australian reported, as reproduced by PerthNow. This is Gorman’s account of what he experienced, not an official finding about the crash’s cause or responsibility.
Has the investigation concluded?
PerthNow reported on 10 February that an investigation was underway and said on 11 February that Major Crash Unit officers were investigating. Those reports establish the status at the time of publication only. The sources available here do not verify a final investigative finding, later charges or a court outcome.
