A verified top ten of Germany’s most powerful 2024 cars cannot be assembled from the evidence available. Manufacturer figures establish five very powerful models. Among those five, the Mercedes-AMG ONE has the highest stated system output at 1,063 PS. The sources do not show that it was sold or registered in Germany in 2024, and they do not identify the other five cars a ten-car list would need.
This article sets out which populations “Germany” and “2024” can mean, what each published figure measures, and how to build a defensible ranking from official registration data.
Why a Germany 2024 list needs a rule first
“Germany” can describe three different populations, and “2024” can refer to three different dates. A ranking only means something once one reading is fixed.

For “2024,” the KBA table covers 2024 registrations. Manufacturer pages usually describe the current configuration, so a model year, a first sale date and a registration year can all differ. A current specification page does not prove what was sold or registered in 2024.

The five models with published figures
The following are the only high-output models with manufacturer figures in the sources. Each figure is a company statement, and the units differ.

The second and third places are about one PS apart. That gap is below any meaningful margin, and the two figures come from different publishers, units and definitions, so their order should not be read as a result.
Mercedes-AMG ONE
Mercedes-AMG describes a plug-in hybrid with a 1.6-litre V6 and four electric motors, with a top speed electronically limited to 352 km/h. Its official page says the car’s starting point for “außergewöhnlich agiles, hochpräzises und intensives Fahren am Limit” (exceptionally agile, highly precise and intense driving at the limit) is a directly cooled 800-volt battery developed by the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 engine works, High Performance Powertrains. That is marketing language, not an independent assessment. Because the page is undated, it describes the current configuration rather than a documented 2024 specification.

Lamborghini Revuelto
Lamborghini’s official page lists combined combustion and electric output of 1,015 PS (747 kW), a top speed above 350 km/h, and 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. The page is undated and was accessed in 2026, so it does not establish the model-year status or German availability of the car in 2024.
Ferrari SF90 Spider
Ferrari’s 2024 annual report states that the V8 produces 780 hp and that three electric motors bring the total to 1,000 hp. The figure appears in a corporate report, not a model specification sheet, and Ferrari gives it in hp, which is why it is converted above. Ferrari is an Italian brand.

BMW M5
BMW’s German press release describes the new M5 as a plug-in hybrid with a system output of 535 kW (727 PS), a maximum system torque of 1,000 Nm, and 0–100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. The release is dated 2024, but the sources give no German sales or registration date for the car. The torque figure is system torque and should not be compared with an engine-only torque figure.
Volkswagen Golf R and Golf R Variant
Volkswagen announced the 2024 update of the Golf R and Golf R Variant on June 26, 2024, and German pre-sales began on July 3, 2024. The release gives 245 kW (333 PS) and calls the pair “the most powerful Golf models of our time.” An optional R-Performance package raises the stated maximum speed from 250 to 270 km/h. This is the lowest figure of the five, yet it is the only one whose German 2024 sales timing is documented in the sources.

Reading the power figures correctly
- Units. PS (Pferdestärke) is the metric horsepower used in German manufacturer releases; 1 PS equals about 0.7355 kW. Ferrari’s figure uses hp, and 1 hp equals about 1.0139 PS, so 1,000 hp is roughly 1,014 PS. Convert before comparing, and state the conversion.
- System versus engine output. The Mercedes-AMG ONE, Lamborghini Revuelto, Ferrari SF90 Spider and BMW M5 figures combine combustion and electric output. The Volkswagen release does not describe its figure as a system output, so it should be read as the car’s stated output without a hybrid qualifier.
- Rounding. Lamborghini pairs 747 kW with 1,015 PS, while converting 747 kW gives about 1,016 PS. Differences of a PS or two are rounding, not a performance gap.
- Torque and acceleration. Torque and 0–100 km/h figures add context but do not replace a power ranking.
How to build the full ten
- Choose one population. For cars registered in Germany, use the KBA table FZ 10 for 2024. For models offered for sale or German-built cars, define the source before you start.
- Copy the list of make and model series from FZ 10. The table lists series, not variants, so group entries by series and note where a series includes both hybrid and combustion versions.
- For each series, take the manufacturer’s specification for the configuration sold in 2024, using model-year documentation rather than only a current web page.
- Record each figure with its unit (PS, hp or kW), whether it is system or engine output, and whether an option package changes it.
- Convert every figure to PS using one factor, and state the rounding rule.
- Rank by peak stated power, treating figures within 1 PS as tied and saying so.
- Exclude any model that does not appear in the 2024 registration list. A car can be powerful and still fall outside a registrations-based population.
What the current figures can and cannot support
- Every power figure here is a manufacturer statement. The sources include no independent dynamometer measurement and no comparative test ranking.
- Two model pages, for the Mercedes-AMG ONE and the Lamborghini Revuelto, are undated, so they describe current configurations rather than documented 2024 specifications.
- No German registration or sales counts for the five models are established, so none can yet be placed within a Germany-specific population.
- The sources do not identify the other five cars a ten-car list needs, so a complete top ten cannot be assembled from them.
