The other manufacturer and press figures that are publicly documented fall between roughly 3.25 and 3.5 seconds, but they were produced under different conditions, so they cannot support a strict ten-car ranking. This article covers the five U.S. electric models that have a usable 0-60 mph claim, explains what each claim actually measures, and sets aside the figures that use a different speed interval or market.
Scope: what counts in this list
The figures below apply to vehicles sold in the United States under current (2025 and 2026) model-year listings. “Mainstream” here means a regular model line sold through ordinary manufacturer and dealer channels, with a performance trim or variant of that line where the 0-60 mph claim applies. It does not mean a limited-run halo car. Because the title promised a complete top ten, it is worth stating plainly: a verifiable list of ten comparable 0-60 mph figures for mass-market electric cars is not currently published, so this is a scoped list.
The verified figures
The table is sorted by the published number only. Because the evidence types differ, the order is a reading aid, not a verified performance ranking.
| Vehicle and trim | Interval and conditions | Published figure | Type of evidence | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tesla Model 3 Performance | 0-60 mph, Performance trim only | 2.9 seconds | Manufacturer specification | Tesla Model 3 Performance page |
| 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N | 0-60 mph with N Launch Control and N Grin Boost engaged | Approximately 3.25 seconds | Manufacturer claim | Hyundai Motor America, 2026 IONIQ 5 N |
| 2025 Kia EV6 GT | 0-60 mph | Estimated 3.3 seconds | Estimate reported by the Associated Press | Associated Press |
| Chevrolet Blazer EV SS | 0-60 mph; model year and test conditions not stated in the cited report | Claimed 3.4 seconds | Claim reported by the Associated Press | Associated Press |
| 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ-V | 0-60 mph in Velocity Max mode | Estimated 3.5 seconds | Cadillac (General Motors) estimate | General Motors, 2026 OPTIQ-V announcement (June 2025) |
Why this is not a ranked top ten
A fair ranking needs figures that are measured or defined the same way. The published numbers above do not meet that standard, for four reasons:

- Easy to assemble: Our science tools include all the tools and materials you need to assemble - laser-cut wooden components, clear and simple instructions in English. No electric soldering iron, no soldering, simple assembly.
- Simple design: delicate and small, simple atmosphere, beautiful workmanship, every detail is clearly visible.
- Package includes: 1 set of DIY power car accessories.
- Evidence types differ. One figure is a manufacturer specification, one is a manufacturer claim, and three are estimates or claims relayed by a news organization. None of the figures in this set is an independent, side-by-side test.
- Launch modes differ. The Hyundai and Cadillac figures depend on named performance modes. A car tested without them is a different result.
- Trims and model years differ. A time belongs to one trim in one model year, not to a model name.
- Intervals and markets differ. Kia’s UK EV6 GT figure is a 0-62 mph time, which cannot be placed beside U.S. 0-60 mph numbers.
Models not listed here were excluded because no comparable 0-60 mph figure for them is published, not because they are slower.
Model notes
Tesla Model 3 Performance
Tesla’s current page gives 2.9 seconds for the Performance trim. That is a manufacturer specification, not a result from an independent test. The same page lists other Model 3 trims with different times. The 2.9-second figure applies only to the Performance trim and should not be attached to the Model 3 name generally.

2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N
Hyundai’s official 2026 IONIQ 5 N page states: “2026 IONIQ 5 N can accelerate from 0-60 mph in approximately 3.25 seconds when N Launch Control and N Grin Boost are engaged.” The conditions are part of the claim. Hyundai adds on the same page that actual results can vary with options, conditions, driving habits, and vehicle condition.
2025 Kia EV6 GT
The 3.3-second figure is an estimate that the Associated Press reported for the 2025 EV6 GT. It is not a figure for the ordinary 2026 EV6 trims, and it should not be read as a Kia-published specification.

Chevrolet Blazer EV SS
The 3.4-second figure is a claim the Associated Press reported. The cited report is secondary coverage, so treat it as the claim as reported rather than a measurement from a shared test. The report does not state the model year or the conditions under which the claim was made.
2026 Cadillac OPTIQ-V
General Motors announced the 3.5-second figure as a Cadillac estimate for the OPTIQ-V in Velocity Max mode. The estimate is tied to that mode. Cadillac’s estimate is not an independent test result.

Figures kept out of the ranking
- Kia EV6 GT, UK specification. Kia UK lists 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds, or 3.5 seconds with active Launch Control. This is a different interval and a different market, so it does not sit in the U.S. table. See Kia UK, The EV6 GT.
- Non-GT 2026 Kia EV6 all-wheel-drive trims. Kia’s 2026 EV6 specifications page lists 5.0 seconds for 0-60 mph on the all-wheel-drive trims shown. These are not GT figures and are included here only to show that the EV6 name covers a wide performance range.
Reading acceleration claims
Use these checks before drawing a conclusion from any published time:
- Trim and model year: confirm the figure applies to the exact version you are considering.
- Interval: 0-60 mph and 0-62 mph are different measurements.
- Mode: note whether Launch Control, Grin Boost, Velocity Max or a similar mode was engaged.
- Source type: separate manufacturer specifications and claims from estimates and secondary reports.
- Conditions: tires, elevation, driver and passenger weight, measurement equipment, weather, and road surface can all change a result. A Wikipedia compilation of production-car acceleration notes that these variables affect test outcomes; see List of fastest production cars by acceleration, which is a secondary source to use with caution.
Acceleration is one factor among many. The figures in this list do not compare charging speed, range, price, or running costs, so a quicker 0-60 mph time should not be read as a better overall electric car.
