The X Skorpio is a Genesis concept vehicle built around extreme off-road use. Genesis unveiled it in the Rub’ al Khali, also known as the Empty Quarter, and describes it as tailored to Middle Eastern off-road culture. The company calls it its first extreme off-road vehicle; that is Genesis’s own positioning, not an independent industry classification. Genesis gives the engine output as both 1,115 PS and 1,100 horsepower, with torque also stated in metric and imperial units. How is the concept designed for off-road use?
The visible design and equipment emphasize protection, control and communication across rough terrain. Will Genesis build the X Skorpio—or another extreme off-roader?
Genesis has not announced a production X Skorpio or confirmed a successor in the cited announcement and regional pages. The reveal did include a broader concept-car strategy and several rugged vehicles—the X Skorpio, GV60 Outdoors Concept, GV70 Outdoors Concept and GV80 Desert Edition. Genesis framed concepts as a way to experiment and inspire, which suggests the brand is exploring more adventurous design territory. It does not amount to a commitment to a line of off-road vehicles.
Luc Donckerwolke, Genesis chief creative officer, said the X Skorpio “explores yet another facet of the Genesis brand” and described the concepts as intended to inspire and deepen an emotional connection with customers. Those statements explain the role of the concept; they are not a production announcement or a timetable for another model.
