Which is more comfortable?
Both are described positively for comfort, but the available assessments do not establish an objective winner. Consumer Reports lists ride, quietness, and front-seat comfort as strengths of the Lexus ES300h and ES350; for the Genesis G80 2.5T, it lists ride and interior room. Kelley Blue Book describes the 2025 ES as smooth and easy-going with a quiet cabin, while characterizing the 2025 G80 as more feature-rich and upscale. What to check on a test drive
- Drive the exact trim and wheel configuration you are considering; suspension and wheel combinations can affect ride feel.
- Try the front seats for fit and support, then sit in the rear and check posture and available room.
- Use the controls while parked, then see whether common adjustments are straightforward while driving.
- Listen for road and tire noise on a familiar road and at highway speed, and check visibility from your normal seating position.
Which is more reliable?
In Consumer Reports’ 2026 Buying Guide, the Lexus ES300h and ES350 each receive a predicted-reliability survey result of 40, compared with 30 for the Genesis G80 2.5T. The guide separately lists owner-satisfaction results of 50 for the ES300h, 40 for the ES350, and 40 for the G80 2.5T.

How do power, fuel economy, and 2026 G80 prices compare?
In Kelley Blue Book’s 2025 comparison, the gasoline ES specification has 203 horsepower and 28 mpg combined. The G80 2.5T is listed at 300 horsepower, 311 lb-ft of torque, and 24 mpg combined. Kelley Blue Book defines five-year cost to own as including out-of-pocket costs such as fuel, insurance, service, financing, and depreciation. Its selected-vehicle comparison gives a $70,702 five-year estimate for a new 2025 Lexus ES 250, but shows no five-year total (N/A) for a used 2025 Genesis G80 3.5T Sport Advanced. The new-versus-used rows cannot answer which comparable sedan costs less.
