Geely’s Galaxy E8 Dragon Edition launched in China on April 15, 2024, with reported launch prices of 165,800 yuan for a 550-km two-wheel-drive version and 215,800 yuan for a 620-km four-wheel-drive version. Those are launch prices, not a guarantee of today’s dealer pricing or availability.
How much did the Galaxy E8 Dragon Edition cost?
On April 15, 2024, reports put the China-market Dragon Edition at two price points:
| Configuration | Reported range | Reported launch price in China |
|---|---|---|
| Two-wheel drive | 550 km | 165,800 yuan |
| Four-wheel drive | 620 km | 215,800 yuan |
IT之家 and Gizmochina reported these launch prices; Gizmochina described the 165,800-yuan version as 10,000 yuan below the previous entry model. These figures describe the April 2024 launch, not a current transaction quote. IT之家 · Gizmochina
What changed between the two Dragon Edition trims?
The reported lineup paired the lower-priced two-wheel-drive model with a 400V platform and the higher-priced four-wheel-drive model with an 800V high-voltage platform. IT之家 also described the four-wheel-drive version as using a silicon-carbide electric drive.

Suitable for daily commuting, rainy highways, salted winter roads, gravel roads and outdoor trips, while helping keep pant legs and clothing cleaner when entering or exiting the vehicle.
- 【Durable Black ABS Construction】Made from black ABS plastic with a rigid, impact-resistant structure for regular driving and changing weather conditions. The molded shape follows the wheel-arch area to provide practical coverage without adding a bulky appearance.
- 【No-Drill Installation】Includes the mounting hardware needed for installation and uses the vehicle’s existing factory mounting points, so no drilling is required. Most installations take about 20 minutes, depending on the vehicle and installer experience. Test-fit and identify the front, rear, left and right pieces before tightening the fasteners.

The 550-km entry version reportedly omitted heat-pump air conditioning. The launch report also listed three exterior colors for the edition: Xizi Blue, Smoke Gray, and Daybreak Black. These details come from the April 2024 launch coverage; the available sources do not establish that every specification or color remains unchanged in current listings. IT之家’s launch report
How should the Dragon Edition’s range claims be read?
The Dragon Edition reports identified 550 km for the two-wheel-drive version and 620 km for the four-wheel-drive version. Geely’s January 2024 announcement described the broader Galaxy E8 family as offering versions with ranges of 550 km, 620 km, or up to 665 km. The 665-km figure was an E8-family claim, not a Dragon Edition specification established by the April launch reports. The cited materials do not provide an independently measured range or a test-cycle qualification for the Dragon Edition figures. Geely Auto’s E8 announcement

Geely’s January announcement also described a 475-kW top-performance configuration with 0–100 km/h acceleration in 3.49 seconds. Those are manufacturer-reported figures for the E8 family, not specifications verified for both Dragon Edition trims. The same announcement referred to a 45-inch, 8K-resolution smart-touch-capable “Galatic Screen,” using the spelling in Geely’s release; it should likewise be understood as an E8-family feature claim rather than assumed equipment on every Dragon version.
Is the Dragon Edition still available at those prices?
Geely’s current official E8 product page displays a 550-km two-wheel-drive Longteng version from 165,800 yuan alongside other configurations. That listing does not establish that the complete April 2024 Dragon Edition lineup, equipment, or prices are still available unchanged. Confirm the exact trim, included equipment, local price, and inventory with a Geely dealer before treating a launch figure as a present offer. The sources cited here do not establish current transaction prices or local inventory.
