Gas Monkey Garage Crew: What They’re Up To Now

Gas Monkey Garage is still active, but the original Fast N’ Loud crew has gone in different directions. Here is what can be confirmed about the main personalities today.

The Fast N’ Loud crew did not simply disappear when the Discovery series ended. Some former cast members moved into independent fabrication and restoration businesses, while Gas Monkey Garage itself continued under Richard Rawlings with a different mix of projects, tours, merchandise, giveaways, and online videos.

The important distinction is that there is no reliable public, first-party roster showing exactly who works at Gas Monkey Garage today. The clearest current information concerns Rawlings, Aaron Kaufman, and Mike Coy; the status of several other familiar television personalities is less certain.

Richard Rawlings is still running Gas Monkey Garage

Richard Rawlings remains the owner and public face of Gas Monkey Garage. The Dallas business is still listed at 2330 Merrell Road, Dallas, Texas 75229, with public hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Sunday, according to the company’s official website.

The garage’s public-facing business now looks different from the television-era operation. Gas Monkey promotes the brand through its online store, memberships and giveaways, visitor tours, and company-produced video content. Recent videos have included projects such as an 800-plus-horsepower supercharged single-cab Ford F-150, a 6×6 Humvee, vehicle-buying videos, and Rawlings hunting for cars.

Fans can also book tours of the Dallas facility. The current tour information advertises visits on Mondays and Fridays at noon. Guests are instructed to meet at the retail store and arrive 10 to 15 minutes early. Rawlings is also associated with Gas Monkey Icehouse at Grandscape in The Colony, Texas, whose official site identifies him as the founder.

Gas Monkey’s current promotions include vehicle giveaways. One listed promotion features a 2026 Dodge Hellcat Durango, while another features a 2026 Harley-Davidson Low Rider S. These promotions, like the tours and video archive, show that the brand remains active even without a current Discovery series.

What happened to Aaron Kaufman?

Aaron Kaufman is not a current Gas Monkey Garage employee. He left the operation in 2016 and established Arclight Fabrication in Dallas. Arclight specializes in aftermarket components, principally for Ford F-100 trucks, and its website remains active with a 2019–2026 copyright notice.

Kaufman’s work has continued to center on fabrication, performance vehicles, and motorsports rather than a return to Gas Monkey. A March 2026 MagnaFlow interview discusses his work with Arclight, Stadium Super Trucks, and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

He also continued in television after leaving Fast N’ Loud, including Shifting Gears with Aaron Kaufman and Aaron Needs a Job. Those programs followed Kaufman’s own projects and career; they were not current Gas Monkey shows.

Mike Coy remains connected to Gas Monkey content

Mike Coy is the former show crew member with the clearest recent connection to Gas Monkey media. Discovery described him as Gas Monkey’s master paint and body technician and noted that he originally joined Rawlings to paint two Pontiac Firebirds before staying with the operation.

The official Gas Monkey Garage YouTube channel published Work Hacks W/ Mike Coy on February 10, 2025. That confirms recent participation in Gas Monkey content, but it does not prove that Coy is still a full-time shop employee in August 2026. The safest description is that he remains publicly associated with Gas Monkey, while his exact employment status is not documented by a current official staff directory.

Jason Aker moved into other restoration work

Jason Aker was a recurring Fast N’ Loud mechanic and shop foreman known for restoration work and muscle cars. He later worked with Barrett-Jackson’s restoration division and, according to a 2024 report, partnered with Tommy O’Brien Jr. on Four on the Floor, a Dallas-area restoration business with a strong focus on classic Shelby Mustangs.

There is no current official Gas Monkey roster confirming that Aker has returned to the shop. His restoration work after the show should therefore be treated as separate from Gas Monkey Garage.

Is Kennan “Keke” Hons still at Gas Monkey?

Kennan “Keke” Hons returned to Gas Monkey during Fast N’ Loud after previously working there. A report from that period described him coming back to build cars and recognizing many people at the shop, while also noting that there were new faces on the crew.

No reliable current source confirms that Hons remains on Gas Monkey’s payroll in 2026. He is part of the shop’s television history, but that is not enough to establish his present employment.

Where are the other familiar crew members?

Several other names are regularly included in online “where are they now?” lists, but their current status varies and is often poorly documented.

Former cast member What can be established What should not be assumed
Sue Martin Associated with ASM Upholstery and appeared on the show as an auto upholsterer and business owner. That she currently works for Gas Monkey Garage.
K.C. Mathieu Part of the historical Fast N’ Loud cast. That he remains on the current Gas Monkey crew.
Jeremy Cheatham Former television crew member often included in retrospective cast lists. That he is currently employed at Gas Monkey without a first-party confirmation.
Tom Smith Former member of the show’s broader cast and Gas Monkey orbit. That his historical appearance represents current shop membership.
Scot McMillan and Daphne Kaminski Connected with the program’s historical cast or extended operation. That either is part of a confirmed 2026 Gas Monkey roster.

A February 2026 article presented a much longer group—including Jason Aker, Mike Coy, Kennan Hons, Tony Cano, Jeremy Cheatham, John Freeman, Jon Rodriguez, Russell J. Holmes, and Chad Isbell—as the “current team.” However, it did not provide first-party employment records or official Gas Monkey announcements. That list is best treated as unconfirmed rather than definitive.

What changed after Fast N’ Loud?

Fast N’ Loud ended after its final broadcast season in 2020. Richard Rawlings confirmed the end of the show during episode 1578 of The Joe Rogan Experience on December 15, 2020.

The end of the series did not mean that Gas Monkey Garage closed. The physical Dallas location continued, and the company shifted more attention toward its own digital videos, retail operation, tours, promotions, and branded businesses.

That shift explains much of the confusion around the crew. During the Discovery years, television made the shop’s personnel visible and gave viewers the impression of one fixed team. Today, the company’s official online output highlights projects without providing a complete public employee list. A person appearing in a Gas Monkey video may be a current worker, a collaborator, or a guest; the video alone does not establish a permanent job title.

What the crew’s status looks like now

  1. Richard Rawlings: Still the owner and public face of Gas Monkey Garage, which remains active in Dallas.
  2. Aaron Kaufman: Running Arclight Fabrication and working in fabrication, performance vehicles, and motorsports; he has not returned to Gas Monkey.
  3. Mike Coy: Recently featured in official Gas Monkey content, although a current full-time employment status is not confirmed.
  4. Jason Aker: Associated with independent restoration work, including Four on the Floor; no confirmed return to Gas Monkey.
  5. Kennan Hons: Previously returned to the shop, but no reliable 2026 source confirms that he remains there.
  6. Other former cast members: Their current careers and businesses should be considered separately unless Gas Monkey or the individual has made a recent first-party statement.

FAQ

Is Gas Monkey Garage still open?

Yes. The Dallas garage is still listed at 2330 Merrell Road, Dallas, Texas, and the official site advertises public hours, tours, merchandise, giveaways, and online video content.

Is Aaron Kaufman back at Gas Monkey Garage?

No reliable current source indicates that he returned. Kaufman remains associated with Arclight Fabrication and continues work involving truck components, performance vehicles, and motorsports.

Is Fast N’ Loud still making new episodes?

No. The series ended in 2020. Gas Monkey Garage still publishes its own online videos, but those are not new Discovery episodes of Fast N’ Loud.

Who is definitely still on the Gas Monkey Garage crew?

Richard Rawlings is still the owner and public face. Mike Coy has appeared in recent official Gas Monkey content, but the company does not publish a complete current employee roster, so broader crew lists should be treated cautiously.

The Bottom Line

Gas Monkey Garage is still operating, but the original Fast N’ Loud crew is no longer a confirmed single team. Richard Rawlings continues to run the brand, Aaron Kaufman is focused on Arclight Fabrication and motorsports, and Mike Coy has a recent connection to Gas Monkey’s official content. The current status of several other familiar names remains unverified, so historical cast lists should not be presented as a definitive 2026 employee roster.
